BPMN is the future of business processes and SpiffWorkflow is the open-source tool which runs these BPMN processes. If you are looking to implement BPMN workflows in your business, you will see a lot of closed-source established products on the market however Spiff is the only open-source one. We at Status needed this cause we want to use Spiff to run our DAO processes and be able to customise Spiff with the help of the Sartography team in running a decentralised organisation.
Spiff has been designed from the ground-up with customisation and future design in mind and this is seen by how quickly you can add customised components to Spiff. Give Spiff a go and you will be impressed.
This is a huge iteration of what Dan and his team have done until now. It is easier to integrate workflows with the modern apps with their marvelous work. Kudos o/
For me it all comes down to the synergy of the product features. the on-going enhancement and the support you receive from the community.
And in Spiff's case this synergy deserves 5 stars, no question about it.
Ultimately when you build your process architecture you want to be sure you have as much freedom and flexibility from the product you use and if you can add to that an opened partner-like support service from people with process passion, then I'd say you have a winner.
SpiffWorkflow is a versatile workflow engine that implements the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standard. It allows for the execution of business processes and decision automation in software applications. My experience with it has been positive; its Python-based framework integrates well with other systems and is great for mapping out complex processes. The ability to visualize workflows with SpiffWorkflow has been particularly helpful for debugging and improving process efficiency. Overall, it's a robust tool for developers looking to implement BPMN with the flexibility of Python.
SpiffWorkflow is a well-designed tool to help visualize processes for non-programmers, but give programmers the ability to easily add backend functionality. Deceptively powerful.
The tool is so simple but complex! Bridges the gap between developers and those making the business decisions so that everyone can be on the same page. Dan has been so amazingly helpful and great to work with too!
