I’ve been a VJ for over 10 years. The show that pushed me toward TekDetek was Massive Attack — they pulled faces from the crowd onto the screens and paired them with fake job descriptions. It turned the crowd into part of the visual, and I wanted that kind of live effect to be easier to reach. Most of the time, getting there means tools like TouchDesigner: powerful, but a long road of learning and setup before anything looks good. That’s a hard first step if you just want to start making live visuals. TekDetek is my answer to that. It runs in the browser — no install. Point a webcam or drop in a video, then switch through live looks: letter-and-symbol video, flowing patterns, grid patterns, boxes that follow people or bright spots, and glitchy retro-TV. Save a clip, or open the page in OBS and put the look on your stream. Built so people can get into VJing without the heavy tooling first.
