Safety-first walking navigation. Tired of maps sending you through dark or empty streets just to save 3 minutes? Walkable shows you the safest routes in real time using a Walkable Score that considers lighting, foot traffic, time of day, and live safety signals (including crime activity data) Choose between Safest, Balanced, or Fastest routes, then walk with confidence. Designed for women, parents, and travelers who refuse to trade safety for speed.

@metehan_caliskan I love the idea !

Definitely been in such situations !

@metehan_caliskan @omar_trkzi Give it a try :) Thanks for support !
Hey there, I came across your product and the idea resonated with me right away. I'm a female and safety is always top of mind when walking. I have felt uneasy walking alone more times than I can recall in my life, typically at night. I appreciate the link you shared for a 3-day trial as well. I tested two routes:
1. The first was walking to a restaurant ~1.2km away. There is slightly longer route I typically take that is well lit and safe. The app directed me to take the shortest route which would've meant walking through a homeless encampment.
2. I chose a further destination on the other side of a large forested park. One of the options was to walk through the park at 11pm. There is not a well-let trail throughout and I believe the park is closed after dusk. I would've liked to share feedback directly in the app.
On the walk itself, it would be great to share live-feedback or post-walk on whether or not the route felt safe. It would be great to see community feedback if others near me are taking the same route (The Waze app comes to mind where I can see what other drivers are reporting live)
I also wondered if your product takes into consideration other online & social monitoring services to help suggest the best route as well as it's not just crime, I would want to avoid heavy construction zones, highway underpasses, going through a park at night, etc etc.
Congrats on your launch and excited to see how your product grows.
Walkable
@laura_wong2 Hey! Founder here. Thanks a lot for taking the time to share this feedback. This is really helpful for us right now.
We are currently tweaking our database and algorithms to make sure the app prioritizes actual safety over just the shortest route. We also plan to add live and post-walk feedback features soon to build a community-driven network, similar to Waze.
If you don't mind sharing, which city and neighborhood were you testing this in? Knowing the specific location will help our team look into the map data and fix these routing issues.
Thanks again for the support!
@ekimcem sure thing! I’m just outside Vancouver. The neighborhood is Coquitlam, BC, Canada. The destination in my first example is walking to Gigi’s restaurant. LMK if I can share any other insight.
I love this idea and wanted to give it a try... but the design isn't fully responsive and doesn't seem to adapt to my smaller iPhone 13 mini screen. I couldn't see or scroll to the subscription options; I could only click "continue", and was presented with a $7.99 weekly price. Too many glitches for me to justify at the moment! If you add a free trial option (even just 1 day) and update the responsive layout I would certainly be interested to test in the NYC area. Cheers!
@maxavery Ah, I'm on a 13 mini as well, that probably explains why there's no free option visible.
Walkable
Hello@maxavery, thanks for your kind feedbacks. Actually, we don't have free trial because of the API and AI cost. About the UI issue on iphone 13, I will solve that issue ASAP. Again, thanks to let me know about the UI issue. If you want to try Walkable in the NYC and give us a small motivation, you can do that by subscribing weekly :)
If there's a free mode, I can't find it. The subscribe screen appears immediately with no way to dismiss it.
Walkable
Hello Seteven, I'm sorry but we don't have free mode. After you complete onboarding, there is a hard paywall. We prefered hard paywall because of our AI and API costs.

Where do your lighting and foot traffic signals come from, and how do you keep the score accurate city to city?
Walkable
Hello @thamibenjelloun, the relevant data was obtained from OpenStreetMap and Grok. Scores are relative, calculation algo depends on exposure to the risk area and the accuracy confidence score.

Honestly the Safest vs Fastest toggle is the part that sells it for me, that 3-minute shortcut through a dark alley is never worth it. Does the Walkable Score update live as you're mid-walk if conditions change?
Walkable
Hello Zain, thanks for your kind feedback! Really glad the Safest vs Fastest toggle is clicking for you.
Right now the Walkable Score is calculated live the moment you enter your destination, so it reflects the conditions at that point. It doesn't currently recalculate mid-walk if things change along the way, but that's a really good idea and something I can add down the line. Thanks for the suggestion!
The use case for solo travelers feels especially strong. Exploring a new city is much more enjoyable when you're not constantly second-guessing your route.
Walkable
Love this, couldn't agree more. Funny thing is we built Walkable for the US market first, but it's turned out to be a perfect travel companion for solo travelers heading from the States to Europe and Asia. So you can actually wander through Barcelona without clutching your phone the whole time.
