We suffer from information overload in a world filled with noise and yet we need to surface knowledge 'fast'. With so many productivity apps out there - why are none able to capture thoughts messily and organise them intuitively? Well...say hello to Weavit.

What do you think? …

Komal Narwani
Hello innovators on Product Hunt! Do any of the following situations resonate with you? 💡 You have a sudden idea around a topic that keeps you awake and need to note it down quickly...only to lose it as quickly as you wrote it down. 📆 You walk into a meeting and take long, lengthy notes that are nowhere to be found the next time you meet. 🥗 You grab a meal with a potential recruit, candidate or a client and can’t remember little nuances about them or even what you had discussed last time. 💬 You’re having a chat with a group of people and forget interesting findings of a 📚book or a 🎙 podcast you consumed. We’re sure you get the picture… Over time, at the intersection of ageing and the forgetting curve - we easily lose tabs on important thoughts, tasks and details that simply drown in today’s flood of information. Suffering from these problems ourselves, Emmanuel (@emmanuel_lefort1) and I were extremely excited to tackle the problem of quick knowledge capture. organisation and usage to help people stay on top of things! Alas, we built Weavit, a quick capture tool that intuitively connects everything you think and need-to-do TO people, events and topics you interact with. Why? 1️⃣ Knowledge capture should be quick and seamless - no more 2️⃣ Tools should work with our minds (not the other way around) - technology today is advanced enough to help us organise messy unstructured thoughts. 3️⃣ Synthesis and Serendipity comes from the connections we make - so we built Weavit’s editor with mentions, tags and smart suggestions from the get-go. 4️⃣ Thoughts should be easy to capture but even easier to find - we built Weavit to surface loose thoughts but also have them auto-categorised in 4 main categories: Threads, Events, People and Topics. Here are some key features of Weavit ⚡️ 1. One-tap task & thought capture on mobile with the ability to mention/tag other people, events, topics or threads in the same window. 2. An Inbox for all ‘loose thoughts’, external imports and tasks to-do. 3. Smart Suggestions for related notes and links nested within your thoughts. 4. Rapid integration with Gmail or Microsoft Outlook so you have some of your existing knowledge in one place. 5. The ability to create threads, centred around key ideas or titles 6. Capturing a thought with Siri Shortcuts 7. ‘Send to’ Weavit from any application or browser to easily surface fresh inspiration and content to link to your world. 8. Export your thoughts to other Apps so you can build longer form content. 9. Use our Magic Match Search feature by asking a question to your digital mind and get thoughts suggested to you. Here’s what’s coming ✨ 1. More shortcuts and integrations to capture thoughts/tasks 2. A Weavit Web App where you’ll be able to view, create and connect thoughts across multiple tabs 3. A fleshed-out Chrome Extension so that you can surface and add related insights on topics and people as you browse the web. 4. An Android App (later this year) You will love Weavit if you… 🧠 Want to stay on top of things 💨 Like taking short notes about the podcasts/books/articles that you read. 📃 Use post-its for your quick thoughts but can never find them again… 🙀 Struggle through many productivity tools without ➾ Like to create quick outlines of your long-form content before publishing them 💡 Have a lot of ideas but often lose them… only to realise later - you were thinking of a unicorn 🦄 Thank you for all your support, we can’t wait to help you capture your thoughts on the go! ❓Have a question? @komal_narwani This is an awesome idea and product, Komal. Congratulations on the launch! I also love to see the community of users already backing you. I seriously have been looking for a tool like Weavit. My phone is full of random thoughts all over - some voice recordings, others in my Notes app, saved posts on Instagram, etc. but with Weavit, I can consolidate it all in one place. Looking forward to giving it a try!
Komal Narwani
@kathryn_leslie1 Hi Kathryn, thanks for your sentiments - we really appreciate it! Indeed, Weavit is here to help you with all your scattered, random thoughts rather than prevent them - we let the tech do the magic of organising your ideas and using a powerful search so you can find those nuggets of knowledge when you need it.
Emmanuel Lefort
Hi ProductHunters! This is Emmanuel, co-founder of Weavit! When we imagined Weavit, I had over 10 years of experience using Evernote and iOS Notes, and three things were absolutely frustrating : 1️⃣ It was impossible to take “small notes”, you know, these post-it blurbs 📑, light bulbs 💡, brain farts 🧠 that you want to immediately note down. All note-taking Apps were geared towards long notes, with a big title and a big empty page. 👉🏼 That’s why we created the Thought concept 💭. Short fleeting notes that are the atoms of your thinking and that you can arrange and rearrange to weave your second brain. 2️⃣ There were only two choices to organise notes: 📂folders and #tags. But the brain doesn’t work like that. When you think, one idea leads to the next one: your brain is like a network, not a folder cabinet 🗄. What we needed was a way to permanently branch out ideas without limitation. 👉🏼 That’s why we built a very natural thread system: say you start with a “Business Ideas” thread, with multiple thoughts attached to it. If one of these ideas is worth digging, just add a title to it and it becomes the top of a new thread. If one of the thoughts in the new thread is worth digging more: no problem, another title and you get another thread, without limitation. And of course, one thought can belong to many threads. No limits. 3️⃣ And cherry on the cake, it was impossible to find 🔎 back my stuff. No natural language search, meaning that if we had written “Doctor” here and “Physician” there, we would only get one of the two when searching for Doctor. 👉🏼 That’s why we built in a pretty magic🪄 natural language search (still in Beta), that also fully leverages the connectivity of your thoughts. Searching for “My movie recommendations” will bring up thoughts such as “Charlie liked Dune” or “Janine recommends to watch Maybe Later”. Oh, and by the way, but this was so obvious: the App had to be integrated with your existing knowledge. If any of your thoughts mentions a contact 🦸, a calendar event 📆 or a topic 📘from the largest source there is, Wikipedia, Weavit will automatically detect it and allow you to link it to your thought. Another magic way to keep track of what matters the most! I hope you will enjoy using Weavit as much as I do - we have many cool features in cooking, especially the desktop version that will bring a whole new dimension to thought capture 🦋.

Congrats for the launch! Do you have a video to showcase the app >> for Android usées like me
Emmanuel Lefort
@guillaume_mathieu1 - you can check this video I made on Zettelkasten technique and Weavit - towards 2/3 of the video there's a demo of how to use the App:

@emmanuel_lefort1 thx for sharing! Looking fwd to it!

Looks interesting. Are there any ways to integrate Weavit into other PKMs systems such as Obsidian or Roam?
Emmanuel Lefort
@alex_w2 For now we have a "full dump" off all your thoughts into a .json (for the geeks) and .txt that are pretty useable and preserve all links and backlinks. A full sync would require more thinking, but not impossible.
Alex Weichart
@emmanuel_lefort1 Thank you for the information, that sounds useful. Are there any plans to offer some sort of API? That way, people could write a plugin for their PKM system of choice, to sync the changes automatically.
Emmanuel Lefort
@alex_w2 yup - we could definitely offer this.

Very cool app! Found "shazam for thoughts" line a tad confusing though 😅
