I built YouTubeTranscriptGenie because I kept running into the same problem: YouTube has an incredible amount of useful information, but finding and working with that information inside a long video can be frustrating. Sometimes I just want the transcript — to search for something specific, take notes, research a topic, or give the content to an AI tool. I wanted a tool that made that process ridiculously simple. So I built YouTubeTranscriptGenie. Paste a YouTube URL → get the transcript → copy, download, translate, or use it with AI. The core transcript extraction is completely free and requires no signup. I’ve also been working on AI-powered features like summaries, notes, chapter maps, and other ways to turn a transcript into something more useful. This started as a small side project, but it has turned into something I genuinely enjoy improving every day.
