Blockfolio is owned by FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange which offers crypto derivatives, options, volatility products, and leveraged tokens. Blockfolio was acquired for the purchase price of $150MM in cash, crypto, and equity. The acquisition was announced on August 25, 2020. At the time, the deal was the sixth-largest acquisition in crypto sector history.
On July 28, 2021, Blockfolio announced that it was officially rebranding to FTX (or the "FTX mobile app"). According to FTX.US President Brett Harrison, the rebrand of the app "reflects what is true for [them] internally: Blockfolio has fully integrated and become one and the same with FTX."
