This is my new favorite app. I used to be conversant in Mandarin and would come up with visualizations to learn up to 30 characters a day. It's been years now, though, and I've forgotten much of my Chinese. I've always wanted someone to build something like this with a large enough character set that it would actually be useful for someone like me. Love the approach for teaching tones as well....

I love that YC is tackling this huge problem. As a former scientist, I'm super aware of how screwed up science is right now. This is a major step in the right direction and I think in addition to all the great tech that will result from this, another huge benefit will be pushing science away from valuing churning out papers and more towards empowering scientists to make major breakthroughs.
