Hi Makers and Hunters! 👋
BigDataCloud is an Australian based Tech Startup and I am excited to announce our latest feature update to our most popular free client-side reverse geocoding API.
More and more websites and mobile apps, today, are requesting to access user's location data with HTML5 geolocation API or the default location services of iOS/Android.
However, the opt-in rate for the...

I follow many art communities online, especially on Instagram and YouTube. And everyday there are new channels that I discover. Not all have communities. But few have a loyal community base of more than a million. First of all, having a followers and community is a different thing. You might have 1 million subscribers and no community. And you might have 100 members but a close community. So...

What is the best way to market to developers?
Most Saas marketing techniques are skewed towards business professionals from the marketing department.
But how do you market solutions to developers?
Does anyone have any experience or insight into this matter?
Thanks.

Agree. However, it also depend on the scale of your business. If you talk about Saas business, our primary point of contact with customers in our website or app. So we have all these trackers placed to give us insight on the performance. Initially, it is great to see numbers and make some decision. But it is not always that you uncover path breaking insight from your data. After few months, the...

Well, you should always listen to your customers :). But then it, you should probe them to understand why. Why is he/she requesting of a feature? What problem is he trying to solve? Once we understand that it will be easier to make decision.
Also I feel rather then asking if the feature is requested by many, we should try to understand if this problem is more common place. Because often if one...

From my experience ebooks or case study, pdf downloads have worked the most.
Right now the most popular method is promoting a webinar on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram to capture email ids of prospects, then follow them up with weekly free content.
Many also scrap their existing LinkedIn network to kickstart their newsletter and slowly filter them out. Compared to other social networks, on...

Well. Being in Saas startups and dealing with saas products on day to day basis, whenever I see interesting Saas ads on Instagram. I definitely click (out of curiosity) or hit bookmark to check out later. This is generally true when I come across an ad of a product which I am not very aware of.
I don't go to Instagram with the purpose of work, but I do most of my time there. And I am only one...

In my startup, initially, we had a different name for the company and we were building multiple products with different names.
In doing that we faced the following problems:
1. We had no time to invest in branding or promoting company name.
2. Each different products required different branding and maintaining their brand assets were difficult and time-consuming.
3. Maintaining multiple...

If you don't have a strong connection with the investor network or startup community, then it is worth building your network - joining hardware FB groups in your locality, meetups and so on. These are a great place to find your co-founders, like-minded people and get a general sense of what is happening in your industry.
Also at the same time working on the prototype of your product. If you...

How are Hunters in PH discovering new products?
I have known PH for long. However, have only started exploring the platform actively for some time now. So out of curiosity, how are top hunters hunting new products. And before hunting, do they reach out to maker? Or are most of the hunts initiated by maker themselves?

IMO converting free to paid users isn't a straight forward problem. If we look into our own behaviour it might help us draw some insights on it.
Example1: I used Mailchimp free version for many years before upgrade to base package as we exceeded above 2000 users. Even though it had many other paid features, none of them made me move to paid version. Also the price point was...

There are many reasons where you can use Invite only strategy:
1. When the product is still on beta phase and you are aware that there are many bugs on it. Invite only can help you get relevant feedback and not overwhelm your team.
2. As a launch strategy, you can use to create buzz and measure demand for the product. It is a popular method used by many Saas startups.
3. The other important...
