Sharing our first PH launch experiences
For context:
We launched Green Wedge, which is a sustainable climate action solution, that allows individuals to take measurable steps to reduce climate impact, by participating in ecosystem restoration projects at scale.
Pre-launch:
Preparing our launch page was an interesting and creative task. It felt like a productive day and time well spent.
Facebook PH groups were rather useless to...

I would add changing "I am" to "I feel", especially addressing negative emotions, which is also important in communication with oneself. It highlights that it is a temporary, often subjective state, that doesn't define you as a person, at the same time validating your current emotions.

I've only scratched the surface, but Discord seems nice, and saw many Reddit communities with their own Discord servers. Also haven't tried it yet, but heard positive opinions on Telegram.

The thing with not taking anything at face value originally was applying to obtaining credible information, but after our launch, I would say that it has to be applied also to people's words. It's hard for me, as I always give a credit of trust at the beginning and then just become disappointed.
I'm genuinely curious, what stops people from keeping their word and what do they get from lying...
I learned how naive I was after my first launch. What about you?

I have the same issue. Not all new discussions are showing up, and I know that, because I get some notifications from followed people and their discussions don't show when sorting by new.
There is also an issue, where I can't see all launches, because even when selecting All, it shows only featured ones. I'm worried that it could impact our launch, as we weren't featured and already few...
Why are there so few new discussions lately?

Take measurable climate action by accessing ecosystem restoration projects at scale while minimizing the risk of greenwashing. Gradually build towards a personal net zero and track your positive impact.

Hello everyone!
I’m excited to present Green Wedge, which allows you to access sustainable carbon removal projects, that are based on ecosystem restoration.
We want to give an opportunity to environmentally conscious individuals, to take personal climate action on the proper scale.
Through our web application, you can estimate how many trees are needed to compensate for average emissions in...

The biggest challenge this week is for sure our launch on PH!
Also yesterday I had a meeting with the first group of our potential public partners. It went well, so I hope it will be the same with our launch :)

Few questions about being featured
As there is a lot of different information from different times, I'd like to ask a few questions about being featured as for today:
- As I read that there is now information about being featured before the launch, how much time ahead it should be displayed, and at what point it is decided, especially taking into account that you can edit the post even just before the launch?
- Are featured...

I have a bit of academic background, so for me, research papers and official documents are the most credible sources of information for professional purposes. Wikipedia could be a good starting point, especially that you can check cited sources. I don't trust LLMs much, as they have a tendency to hallucinate. In every case, just don't take anything at face value.
Is Wikipedia still a source number one when it comes to information or... ?

I think corporations will have to switch from maximizing value for shareholders, to maximizing value for society. Recently there have been a lot of projects that don't benefit ordinary people, and just pump numbers up, often not being sustainable in the long term. There are inflated private companies, who are poaching on lack of regulations and are subsidized by public money while their owners...

How many shoutouts do you add to your product launch?
Are you sticking to the recommended 3 shoutouts, including only the most important ones, or adding more (or less)?

Not including myself, our first customer was (and still is) a lawyer who we consulted while creating terms of service and privacy policy for our app. It was super inspiring to have someone so interested in our project from the beginning, while not even actively pursuing to recruit him as a customer.
How did you get your First customer for your product ?

What is your opinion on taking climate action by individuals?
Do you think that the sum of individual actions could bring a measurable effect? Do they make sense as a complementary solution to the systemic changes, or are they even necessary before these systemic changes will happen? Or are they totally irrelevant? Are we morally obligated to do something as individuals?
Do you personally take actions for the climate, or maybe you’d like to but don’t...

Do you prefer concise feature-focused or longer story-driven first comment on product launch?
I wonder if I should add a few more paragraphs on how the idea was born, but on the other hand I'm not sure if it'll become too long.

Question About PH etiquette
As there are differences between various Internet communities, I’d like to ask, is there a customary way on PH to express gratitude for someone’s comment? Do you just upvote it as a form of saying “Thank you”, or write it as a reply?

I think that we should be cautious when creating either AI or robots that are too similar to humans, as it could have serious psychological consequences, that we are not ready for.
It should be researched more, and may be regulated in the future.
Also, in my opinion, a more machine-like design is just cool!
