Hello 👋
We are starting the process of testing our MVP (Scopey) with users, and I’m wondering what tools people use to monitor usage. It’s built on Google Firebase.
I’ve used Hotjar for websites, not sure if that works for web apps?
Any insights are appreciated!
Thanks!

Hey Jeena, if you are looking to test out your product with your users in moderated testing environment, can definitely give a try to www.betafi.co
Hey started using google analytics 2 weeks ago.
It does its job. But i do not have any product to compare to.
How is Hotjar, though?
As per our experience at The Product Dose Team, we'd like to share two powerful tools for beta testing that have proven beneficial to us:
1. TestFlight: TestFlight, developed by Apple, is an excellent tool for beta testing iOS apps. We have used TestFlight extensively to gather feedback from a diverse pool of testers before releasing our apps to the public. The seamless distribution process and in-app feedback capabilities have helped us identify and address issues efficiently, resulting in a more polished and user-friendly app.
2. Firebase App Distribution: Firebase App Distribution, part of the Firebase platform by Google, is another tool we highly recommend for beta testing Android apps. It offers a straightforward and streamlined process for distributing pre-release versions of our apps to selected testers. With Firebase App Distribution, we have received valuable insights and bug reports that have allowed us to refine our apps and deliver a high-quality experience to our users.
These tools have played a pivotal role in our beta testing process, enabling us to engage with testers, collect valuable feedback, and make iterative improvements to our apps. We encourage you to explore TestFlight and Firebase App Distribution for seamless and effective beta testing of your own projects. Happy testing!
For monitoring the usage of your MVP (Scopey) built on Google Firebase, consider these tools:
Firebase Analytics: Integrated solution for detailed insights into user behavior and engagement.
Google Analytics: Comprehensive analytics tool with event tracking and user segmentation for web apps.
Mixpanel: Powerful platform for event tracking, funnel analysis, and A/B testing in web apps.
Amplitude: User analytics platform offering behavioral analysis, retention metrics, and cohort analysis.
Hotjar can also be used for web apps, providing Feature like heatmaps and session recordings. Evaluate these options based on integration, visualization, pricing, and specific analytics needs.
