Product Hunt has always been the place to see the top launches. Soon you’ll start to see “Top Product” badges in places.

    badges Here’s what’s going on:

We realized something: A "top launch" is different than an actual "top product" that has traction and momentum.

Some months ago, we launched a new feature called Maker Shoutouts to answer this crucial question: "What are the best products on Product Hunt?"

Shoutouts allowed new launchers to celebrate the products they find indispensable (e.g. If you built your frontend with Vercel, and love it, you'd give Vercel a "Shoutout"). This gave us real data about what products the top builders are using — the true “top products” and not merely top launches.

After > 20,000 shoutouts, we have an initial answer to this question.

We've found the true Top Products 🏆

These are the top 0.001% of products, as determined by a combination of Maker Shoutouts and Reviews. These are the products that the best product builders love and admire.

Our inaugural Top Products (grouped by category) are:

    • Notion
    • Linear
    • Intercom
    • Slack
    • Loom
    • Framer
    • Webflow
    • Figma
    • Github
    • Stripe
    • Supabase
    • Firebase
    • Tailwind CSS
    • Next.js
    • Vercel
    • React
    • GPT-4 by OpenAI
    • Claude by Anthropic

How do you win Top Product? 🏆

Make a product that builders love to build with and use themselves. Make a product that builders love so much they shout you out in their launches!

Love that Product Hunt is spotlighting the tools that builders actually swear by. These are the real MVPs. Huge congrats to all the products that made it—being in the top 0.001% is next-level! If you're in the process of building something new, this list is basically a cheat sheet of the best tools to use! Certainly a meaningful and useful change here! 👏

So basically, you need to have more shoutouts + reviews from other makers in their launches to be the best product, right? This will be a hard one to conquer as the giants will always have this position. Anyway, it is an interesting take. Makers will be more motivated to have another achievement to get. 🙂

Great update, Rajiv! :) Note for Makers: When giving shoutouts for your product, consider highlighting not only the tools you've used directly in its development but also those that have supported other aspects of your business. This could include tools for design, marketing, customer support, research, or project management. Here are some categories to think about: • General: Dev tools, Design tools, Marketing • AI Infrastructure: Vector database, Inference, Model, RAG • Productivity and Collaboration: Chat, Project management, Documents • Company and Ops: Banking, Payroll, HR software

It's sound interesting.I believe this will be a great incentive and attraction for many new developers. Of course, It's also really usefully for new members. Now, Let's see what we got.

I made my product - Idearify (https://idearify.com) using React, React-Native and NodeJS. I'd say these products deserve a shoutout. If you are just starting out on your product creation journey and wish to draw inspiration from someone has been through that experience, feel free to click the link above if you haven't already.

Maybe name these "hall of fame"? These are too established IMO. Top product should be more like something new. And then after some period They slide into Hall of fame. People come to product hunt not for the incumbents but for innovation and challengers. IMO
