Technically its easier to build same thing now which was being built 5 years ago. 
But now market already has many copies and many things which are in tread, there are lot of products to try for a consumer. 
When a user searches for a good product he finds 20 or more, but only 2 or 3 of them are actually useful and if the user is looking for cost effective manner and as per his needs it boils down to one product. 
So to build that one product which the market needs now and in next one or two years is very very difficult it needs lot of market understanding and lot of higher tech capabilities and talent is rare and especially tech talent which get attracted by the Tech giants.
