Has OpenAI killed the AI wrappers game?

What do you guys think? Has OpenAI's latest releases killed the market or will it make it easier for anyone to build their own tools like an Apple Marketplace? Personally I think we'll see a similar flood of apps built like on Apple's Marketplace but what do I know? What do you think?

i think the best example is perplexity.ai You can use search plugin in chatgpt, but thats's much more easier in perplexity. That's why they're growing so fast i think

@rimash I haven't heard of them. I'll have to check them out.

that's the big question, isn't it? i see it like this: openai's dropping some pretty advanced tech, and sure, it might look like game over for smaller AI wrappers. but really, it's just setting a new standard, pushing everyone to level up. think of it as the base layer of a giant cake. now, everyone gets to add their own flavors, toppings, and decorations. the wrappers that get creative and build something delicious on top? they'll thrive. it's less about killing the game and more about starting a new one. what's your take?
@shajedulkarim_ great response. I agree, it will just force the lazy wrapped to actually get creative.

@shajedulkarim_ Ya I agree with that for the most part. I think we'll see a lot more different "versions" popping up similar to what we see in the Apps stores.

We can see that OpenAI is building its own ecosystem, which is really overwhelming and incredible. It wanna be the next "Apple", and I also think it could be. For the wrappers, most of them might be dying or have been killed already after the dev day. They were built based on ChatGPT, so they need to spend extra cost to train those vertical models. But now, ChatGPT can also easily achieve those models that they trained, and the pricing maybe even cheaper than the wrappers. So who would choose them... It is a really hard time for wrappers right now.

@jessicaliu Yup I agree. I think we saw a lot of quickly built ai wrappers built fast, but like you said those are going to die off. What I think we will see coming down the line now will be more developed tools where the AI isn't the main feature, but a necessity to have.
