Hi all, I have been trying to be active on Twitter recently to talk about my projects and insights. I want to use the platform to connect with other makers and advertise my future projects. But now, it feels like I'm not getting anywhere. How can one start the Twitter journey?

Tools like Hypefury and Tweethunter can help you be more efficient, and they also offer training and growth groups. You might check that out. Also, people like Kevon Cheung or Arvid Kahl offer great content about getting better.

Consistent but useful tweets!

Twitter is all about the social graph. Get in touch with fellows that have a good number of followers and ask them for interactions (from a follow to frequent RTs). There are so much bots on Twitter that the road from 1 to 1000 followers is very hard. From there it gets much more easier.

@ekrcet writing the best content does not matter of you do not distribute it well. Focus 80% of your energy in distributing out of Twitter (whatsapp groups, personnalized DMs...) and 20% on writing (still has to be good thought 😉) Good luck!

@cesarioo thanks, Oscar. I kept hearing the same from the others as well, that 1 to 1000 is the most challenging part. Well, I guess I need to keep pushing then :)

Staying consistent is a big part of the game. Share your journey consistently. Be an active member of the community. Engage with other contributors and creators.

Hey, I was active on Twitter quite a lot last year. Getting your first 100 followers on there is such a grind. The 3 things I did that got me to 800+: 1. Find a small group of peers who also wanted growth on there. We set up a discord server and shared tweets and threads before we posted them. Gave eachother feedback to improve the quality of our writing. Supported eachother. 2. Joined a paid community. I used to be in Justin Welsh’s community - has a badass on there. I just signed up to George Ten’s (which closes to new subscribers today) 3. Focused on quality content. I’m not saying mine was great (it wasn’t) but it was much better when I started using proven writing techniques and focused on writing value for the reader - not my own thoughts. I plan on getting more active on there again. DM me on there if you want to buddy up. I’m @henwalkco

@henwalkco Thanks for the tips, Henry! Never thought about making this group work :). Btw, couldn't DM you, I guess it's closed. But gave you a follow on Twitter.

@ekrcet followed you back 👍 That’s good to know - I didn’t know my DMs were closed. I guess they are open now that we follow each other. Thanks Ekrem. I’m jumping offline for a bit now but would be good to connect over there later on
