One of the most common problem with running an agency. Changed my entire business model to subscription based design & dev service (https://draftss.com) instead of the traditional agency model. Never faced an issue with the scope of work ever again.

I first talk to them about the added costs and reference our initial agreement. Then, we discuss priorities to see what can fit within the budget or if we need to adjust the agreement. This keeps everything clear and fair.

Hi Rohan, When quoting projects for my former agency I found it was helpful to think about all the things a client will ask for during the project and quote those as optional services at the beginning. This is for two reasons, it shows the client what is not included, but can be and for what cost. An easy process for capturing and managing change is also very important and be consistent about using it. These are two helpful features I built into Scopey to help businesses manage scope better,

I don't think it's as simple as clients expanding the scope without extending the budget – projects change, and businesses need to be able to adapt. Businesses need to facilitate changes, and communicate the value/cost. Scope changes can be a win/win if managed effectively.
