How do you get inspiration for posting on Twitter/X?

I've made the decision to try and grow my Twitter profile, but I often feel like I'm lacking inspiration and I am not sure about what type of content will work. Anyone here feels the same? Perhaps it's just the usual imposter syndrome? Also, let's connect if you want! https://twitter.com/gab_creates

For me, Anything that stops me from taking action is imposter syndrome.
@karan_rajdeo Yeah, you're probably right! But do you manage to overcome it? how?
Karan Rajdeo
@gabriele_mazzola Ahh, man, daily battle, writing about the problem helps, but yeah, not 100% of the times.

I can relate to that feeling. I believe there's a fine line between generic self-help and genuinely valuable content, making it challenging to stand out on the platform. However, I still agree with @karan_rajdeo.
@karan_rajdeo @martifr Thanks for commenting Marti, I also agree with you, and that's also why I felt like creating this discussion here on PH. But I found myself wondering why I felt more at easy by writing about it here than on my Twitter account... any opinion?

@gabriele_mazzola Product Hunt has this unique community vibe that makes discussions more engaging. Twitter, on the other hand, with its broader user base, might feel less personal or focused in comparison. However, you have the potential to reach a more diverse audience on X.
@martifr Yea, that sounds right. Thank you Marti, I'll try and insist on growing the X audience as well then :)

I opened a twitter account only a couple of months ago and the fact that a good deal of customers were lead to my store from there keeps me posting 😅
@llsbet That's awesome. Great reason to keep doing it! Would you mind sharing your handle? or following me so I can follow back? I'd love to see what content you post and perhaps get inspired!

@llsbet Talk about a powerhouse start! The fact that Twitter is driving customers to your store in just a couple of months is a major win. Keep riding that momentum! Any tips for a fellow Twitter explorer like me? 😅

Hey Gab - yea I am not too sure the point of twitter at this stage. Most stuff that appears on my feed seem like inspiration po*n with no real value. Anyway if you want to connect: https://twitter.com/Ken_ItoX
@ken_itox Followed! Yeah, sometimes I get the same feeling. Perhaps we just need to get into a "bubble" that we find interesting?

I'm no Twitter influencer but had a look at your profile and here is some feedback that might help kickstart some way to grow your profile: As a founder building in public, talk about your wins and your losses - if you had a great day celebrate it, if you had a bad day tell your audience about it and what you learnt from that experience. I would say if you have an area of particular interest - find an article or something that is happening and RT or post and explain what it's impact means, why is matters, and how is it going to affect them (your audience or potential audience) - people are quite selfish so its the whole "what's in it for me". You tend to pay attention to things that affect you. Find the larger accounts/KOLs/"influencers" and engage with them in their posts - if they engage back you will be shown to their audience, and as suggested posts over time the more you do it. A great way to get in front of other people. But try not to just engage for engagement sake - spark some kind of interesting comment or conversation. Those kinds of influeners need to engage with a lot of people because that what Twitter values now. (Along with bookmarks of tweets) Try and set a little schedule for yourself of different types of content but still all kind of in the same theme - will help it not feel so overwhelming. - Founder stuff - Product/Company news - Industry news - General interest/pop culture/something fun Consistency - the hardest one of all. It's a slow burn, but you can do it!

I love your open discussion here! And I think for me it's mostly those couple X friends that keep me posting. Seeing them engaging post after post is super motivational. :) Soo I'd encourage just to keep finding your space, engaging with people/posts you like, and testing different approaches. P.s., most of those "I gained 300 followers in 20 days" are scams 🤓

It just feels the same to me as well. I have been using twitter for the past 4 years. But don't tweet consistently as I don't really know what to post lol.

I try to let inspiration come from the unexpected. I realised laughter definitely helps clear some blockages. Take a look at some pages that match your interests for inspiration.
