You are designing an interface wether you like it or not. The only question is wether you’ll do it intentionally and with quality or not. So I guess you just have to ask yourself, do I care about the way customers interface with my product or not

If you read app reviews, very few people complain the app isn't pretty enough. They complain if it fails to solve their problems, or hinders them getting the job done, or inconveniences them.

I'd say it's the most important but not for idea validation in your MVP. Idea validation is to see if your idea solves the problem and if there's any appetite to purchase. Unless your product is directly tied to UX (like a no-code product for example) then it can wait a bit. But your UX is the first thing people see and it directly connects with people's emotions. People buy with their emotions first and justify with logic later.

We revamped our UX a few months ago and saw a whooping 50% increase in conversions just because of this.

It is necessary to make an app interesting for users. More satisfied users -> more recommendations to users' friends/teammates etc. -> more downloads and purchases!
Whether user will stick to your app or not will be hugely dependent on UI/UX. It is the soul of the app.

I think that it's one of THE most important things. Think about it, does a small feature/tweak really matter to us (as startup members) -- no. But, when you think about the user experience, it is everything. The way your product flows, the simplicity of the UI, it's all a journey for the user that you want to make special and engaging.

I think that a good UX/UI Design is what makes a customer keep using your product or prefer you rather than others.
I believe that the User experience has been the biggest factor that helped us close deals with some of the most important banks in Mexico, because still.. a lot of companies take UX/UI for granted thinking that it is just about "having a good-looking app"
