How to get started with Journaling?

I have heard this question a few times now so I thought I will share my experience. In case, it helps someone else too. For several years, I have been journaling consistently. These days, I am mostly focused on penning down thoughts about building my apps. Lots of highs and lows - so I want to make sure I capture all of them. Anyway, back to how to get started with Journaling. One of the techniques that helped my own journaling frequency to explode was from a book called 'High-Performance Habits'. The author recommends coming up with three phrases or words that you want to think about. You can then write about how your daily activities revolved around those three words. I chose - Compassionate, Engaged, and Content. Another technique that I have used to effectively journal is by time of day. Let's say I start from last night. And, simply write down the details of what I went through. Usually, this simple exercise pulls on a thread of thoughts that I had forgotten about and helps me recall the entire day (running backward). Lastly, I use a four-quadrant approach of sifting my thoughts into either a task (near-term attention), idea (medium-term attention), or emotion (+ve/-ve) - this approach distills my state of mind to separate the corn (task/ideas) from the husk (emotion). How do you journal?

Start with filling it out monthly. At the end of each month, reflect open the happenings of your month and what you want to change in the coming months. Then you can move on to weekly reflections and make a habit out of it.

To get started with journaling, simply set aside a few minutes each day to write down your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a notebook or digital journal. Likewise, journaling is quite powerful instrument and many people use it all over the world. Anyway, recently I also made a decision to get something like that, so I turned to this resource https://www.dingbats-notebooks.c... where I read about guide for beginners to start a bullet journal. Have you ever tried to use anything like that?
