New on Product Hunt — New Launch Post UI

Product Hunt has rolled out a refreshed UI for launch posts. Here are some noteworthy changes: Launch-Day Banner: - If you're launching today, a banner at the top of the homepage reads, "Your launch is happening now!" - Clicking the banner takes you to a new launch-day dashboard, where you can track upvotes, comments, and stats with detailed graphs to gauge your performance against competitors. Rounded Upvote Button: - The upvote button now sports a pill-shaped design (a rectangle with more rounded ends), giving it a modern and inviting look. Enhanced "Visit" and "Promo" Buttons: - These buttons are now more prominent, ensuring they’re unmissable and intuitive for visitors. "Shoutouts" Rebranded to "Built With": - This much-needed update clarifies the purpose of the section, helping new users understand it’s meant to showcase the tools used to bring your product to life. - This also reminds me of the SaaS tool called "BuiltWith", PH in future can be a better alternative or similar to BuiltWith. Streamlined "Meet the Team" Section: - The section now displays only the Hunter and Makers, eliminating the previously confusing inclusion of recent upvoters and commenters who had no direct role in the product’s creation. Improved Nested Comments: - Comments now have a cleaner, Reddit-like nested arrangement, making conversations easier to follow. New Navigation Arrows: - When you open a launch post from the homepage, two arrows now appear at the top of the post, allowing you to easily navigate to the next or previous launch. Performance Metrics and Badges: - Stats like Points, Comments, Day Rank, and Week Rank are now prominently displayed. However, badges such as Product of the Day appear smaller than before, which could lessen their impact. The UI changes seem well-intended, aiming for better clarity and usability. It’s unclear if this is a test or a permanent rollout, but the enhancements (like "Built With" and the refined team display) suggest long-term improvements rather than experimentation. Personally, I find the updates refreshing, especially for new users who may have struggled with the previous design. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments. P.S. Interesting launches on the leaderboard today: VocAdapt AI Santa Claus

One thing which I notice is that now a random user cannot see which are the accounts which have Upvoted. Earlier, I could see a Rohan Chaubey having 'Upvoted' VocAdapt and commented on it, but now it is only the comment which is visible. Don't you reckon this can result in potential 'Opaque' practices especially with Upvotes?

Launching soon!
Great design, great experience! I want to know what tool was used to design it?

Love the clean design! Excited to try out the new post editor. Any plans to add more customization options for the launch post layout in the future?

Yeah the new launch post UI looks sleek! Love how the images and key info are laid out. Definitely an improvement over the old design. 👍

Hi Rohan, thanks for noticing us! Which of these new UI elements do you think will have the biggest impact on user engagement, and could there be any downsides... especially for longer-term Product Hunt users who were accustomed to the old design?) It literally changed during our launch so I hope it will not affect us negatively ;)

A much more intuitive and refreshing design. I used to get confused when someone with a maker badge upvoted or commented, making me think that the maker is the maker of that particular product. Thanks for putting this together!

I love this update. The overall use experience is more comfortable. Then about "Shoutouts", I still don't quite understand it. We are not doing a very good job in this area. Can you give us some suggestions? 😊
