Remote teams, how do you stay connected?

Discord has been a great way for my team and I to keep in touch and have quick conversations, just like we would around the office watercooler. We have our own voice channels that we sit in (when we're fine being disturbed), and other team members can pop in and out as they please. This gives us a sense of connectedness that is lost when working remotely. What solutions or hacks are you using to stay connected?

We use Slack - different channels for different purposes, chats, huddles, and calls. We actively use Slack bots for reminders, scheduled meetings, and so on. Basically, the combination of Slack, Google Meet, and Google Calendar is perfect to stay connected during the work day and beyond.

Lots of good suggestions here so I'll just pile on one more: ShareTheBoard. I and several of my teammates can't work without whiteboards. STB lets us actually use them when we're remote (which is always). Yes, it's a plug but also reflects the fact that we enjoy our own dog food! More than that: we made the app *because* we wanted to whiteboard remotely!

We've been using Telegram as the main tool to connect to our colleagues. So everyone has to be online on Telegram, when they're working. Also, it has most of Slack's features in the form a messaging app (groups, channels, emojis, voice/video calls and messages, bots, ...) It's way more flexible and easy-to-use compared to Slack. And more simple compared to Discord. Our team is mostly consisted of engineers/programmers. And since Telegram is so professionally developed, they like it more, as well. At the end of the day, each tool has its own pros and cons.

We are during our day on Slack, and it’s our primary tool. :) Also, we share some information through Notion and Todoist, but nothing can beat a quality video meeting.

It probably goes without saying that I will recommend our own productivity software, Tira. Everything we need is there. With chat, task management, project management, and a calendar all in one place, Tira houses all of our messages, tasks, projects, documents, and schedules. We don’t have to waste time switching between apps searching for missing information. Our software makes it easy to collaborate effectively, allows us to know what each teammate is working on, and it lets us know exactly what is going on. πŸ™ŒπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Ž
