I've found forums like Reddit to be hit or miss for launches. Mumsnet can work well if your product targets that demographic. The key is finding niche forums where your target audience hangs out. Build a genuine presence there first before promoting. Also scope out past threads to see how self-promotion is received. Some forums are more welcoming than others. Focus on the forums where you can add the most value! Hope this helps.
