Hi Rahul, I'm a senior UX/UI  designer and I confidently believe that UX and UI are not the same but complement each other. The most important of the two is UX because it rules and determines how the product should feel and behave to satisfy the user's needs and expectations. I have lost count of the number of times that a company hires UX designers but only are interested in the UI side. Also, I see really pretty designs on dribbble but these don't work well in real life and are only an empty shell.

And this is a mistake, if someone tells you that they do UX, but they don't talk with users and customers, they are not doing any type of UX. UX is mandatory for success because can help lower the risk of failure. Imagine you are planning to implement a new feature, what will happen if no one uses it?

Imagine the savings on time, money, and effort If you can catch this way before even in the design phase vs if you catch it when is already implemented in code. 
DO NOT SKIP UX.

In my opinion, UI focuses on the visual elements users see and interact with, while UX focuses on the overall experience when using a product, so ideally both need to be balanced to create a good product.
