In my experience, working with Twitter reporters has been effective. They often have a direct line to their audience and can amplify messages quickly. Engaging with them through meaningful conversations and sharing valuable insights can lead to better coverage and visibility for your project.
Have you had any similar experiences or strategies that have worked for you?

No matter your marketing budget, it's always important to utilize free ways of getting your product noticed.
If the product is good enough, it will market itself.
The best places to do this are Reddit and Hacker News (in my opinion). Just don't spam; be genuine!
I'd recommend the subreddit /r/sideproject to start. People are very active there and give good feedback.
Hacker News is more competitive, but still very doable. Thousands of users hang out there every day.
My take is that the future in marketing & communication is Personalization. Can not see that we can continue to push everything to everyone and recievers expect more tailored communication.
We are launching a platform, Solarplexus.ai, to help organisations do just that if you want to check it out.
While building, keep working on promoting it through organic growth(linkedin, X, Instagram) and divide your budget into multiple marketing options for paid options.
You should create a valuable content that adressess customers needs š„°š„°
Organic content and word of-mouth! If your users are happy, theyāll talk positively about it, and you canāt put a price tag on that itās priceless indeed!
Definitely utilize free/low-cost content marketing to promote your product and gain organic traction. Focus on creating genuinely valuable blog posts, videos, social media content etc that provide real insights to your target audience. Be active in relevant online communities like subreddits, Slack/Discord groups, Twitter spaces etc to build awareness and get feedback. Consider pitching to smaller blogs/publications in your niche for coverage. With limited budget, it's all about maximizing creativity and hustle to punch above your weight class. The product has to be great too of course - without that, no amount of marketing will make a difference long-term.
Absolutely! Some free or low-cost strategies that have worked well for me: 1) Build an engaged community on social media by providing valuable content and interacting genuinely with followers. 2) Reach out to relevant bloggers, YouTubers, or podcasters and offer them an exclusive discount code to share with their audience. 3) Run a contest or giveaway to generate buzz and collect email addresses for future marketing. 4) Implement a referral program to incentivize word-of-mouth promotion from your existing customers. The key is providing real value and being authentic in your outreach. Focus on building relationships, not just pitching your product!

We've been doing all of our social media posting organically, with little to no funding. It's been unexpectedly effective, particularly with targeted hashtags and compelling material. I'm curious if you've found any free approaches that actually work.
