Jira and Jotform Workflows. Jira for tracking the process and comments, Jotform Workflows for the assign tasks, and getting notified (they have Slack integration so it's easy to collaborate).

Our team uses Notion to document down plans and tasks for each department. On top of having really nice and detailed documentation, we also hold regular weekly sync up across departments which I found really helpful to understand what each department is doing. This might not work if the company is huge, but for a smaller team, it's pretty helpful.

For team collaboration across departments, we mainly use Slack. It’s great for quick messaging and has channels for different topics. We also use Google Docs for shared editing. For bigger projects, Trello helps track tasks. Email is still useful sometimes, but the others are faster for daily work.
