It depends. Some for relaxation and enjoyment, while others for educational purposes.
To get into the mind of people who are greater than me. it's like chilling with a genius.
I read books because they open up new worlds and ideas. They help me learn, relax, and expand my imagination. Plus, it's a great way to gain different perspectives and enjoy a good story.
To learn and mostly to step away from reality

For me, it has always been about learning the unknown. Another added advantage is that they do help in enhancing storytelling, which unarguably is one of the most imp skill we can posses.
@shantanusingh Agreed. I read them to get better at what I do.
And of course the story telling bit. Reading makes you a good writer or narrator w/o having to necessarily learning how to be good at it π
