Depends on stage and budget IMO. In-house makes sense for ongoing strategy but agencies offer specialized skills you may not need full-time. I'd say start with an agency while you figure out your marketing plan, then consider hiring someone in-house once you know what you need long-term and have consistent work to keep them busy. Just my 2 cents!

I lean toward in house. Having someone dedicated to our team fosters collaboration and ensures alignment with our goals.
