So I did what I believe is the largest study ever on the typing UX for people with only one arm or one hand...my conclusion was that we need a product that is exactly the opposite-- The ability to use a mobile device's keyboard as an all purpose keyboard.
My reasoning was that mobile devices allow for one handed typing by design, while full-sized keyboards don't.
I'm a huge keyboarding nerd, so I love seeing this trend here on PH.
@UXAndrew Andrew, did you compile that study somewhere for public use?

@bswen Unfortunately the data was a series of interviews I conducted, and I didn't realize at the time that it would ever become anything...it was just an interest that I took a few steps further and it spiraled in to one of the highlights of my career almost accidentally!

I did another research study recently that I believe is the largest ever on UX for dyslexic users and the article is forthcoming. I have opened my data but so far only two people have ever seen it...
I love this product, but it really bothers me that it's $49.99 (about £30) on the US site and £49.99 (about $82) on the UK site. (http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/pr...)
Looks amazing but I don't think I'll buy it. Here's why:
1. It's not USB powered. I hate IO devices that use batteries - it can be really expensive to change batteries if you are a heavy user. I remember, I had to recharge my AA batteries every other day for my Apple keyboard.
2. There's no abilities to charge the connected devices. The keyboard is useful for my Android if I keep my screen unlocked. But that takes up a lot of juice. There's no way to charge the devices, or even a place to pass an external cable from.

@karangoel agree on 1. no USB powering makes it a tough sell!
@karangoel you need the K811 http://troo.co/XLut sorry for the photo... but it's awesome.... just wish it controlled more devices.... mac, iphone, ipad and perhaps a couple of android devices :) ... but I think it's better than the K480 because instead of a knob you have to turn... it's just a F1, F2 or F3 button

The logitech K811 is way better than this one. I like the design of this keyboard but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. The keyboard is heavy (maybe on purpose to be a tablet stand) and the action on the keys feels cheap. Overall the keyboard feels cheap even though it looks good.
The Logitech K811 supports multiple devices and has a much nicer action on the keys. (They are shaped the same.)
I'm really disappointed with this one. Usually Logitech makes great stuff but this one feels like a miss.
Nice idea. I initially thought aggressive typing might cause devices to jiggle around and potentially get dislodged...but I think the rubber grips would hold things in place.
