You're standing in front of your fridge, staring mindlessly into it. What's missing? What should I buy? Never ask these questions again, use Docket! It's a web app that suggests products, and if you want, you can swipe right to put them in your grocery list
Great idea! One thing - you should make it so that swipe right = "yes" and swipe left = "no". Otherwise anyone who uses Tinder will end up with a list of grocery that they don't want :)
At one of my IT classes I was extremely bored and saw a tweet by @peterkringdon "Request for product: tinder for building a grocery list" and after searching for datasets and coding for a couple of hours, I made docket. Feedback on it is really appreciated!
@rrhoover Thanks for the idea, will certainly consider adding it. Now it doesn't have a lot of features because I literally made it in three hours on school breaks.
BTW, thanks for making Product Hunt π

This is so cool George. Glad you found one of the interesting ideas that featured in my product - #RequestForProduct and shipped it. Love your maker mentality. Wish to see you build more products like this. Keep going buddy ππ»
Please use pictures. Images of product scale because not all shoppers speak English! Now imagine that soda can be confused with baking soda for cooking, baking soda for cleaning and soda as in a sugary beverage. So images will clear all that up instantly. Now also imagine that you can use Branded images but if a Brand wants to be featured on this app, an app which is now globally useful, they have to pay you to be featured there. Until a Brand pays you to be featured then you use an unbranded image. Am I getting my idea across?
Great work @gbougakov... Keep making more amazing things...

Alright Instacart needs to pay this kids a few bucks for the idea and integrate it into their app.

It would be cool if the names were accompanied by emoji. Like:
π₯ Milk
πͺ Cookies
π₯ Salad greens
That way they would be faster to process. Also there is absolutely no feedback when you swipe right or left. The card should turn green when something is added to the list and red when itβs discarded or something else of that sort.
Pretty cool app for short and quick sessions.
The way i feel it is the app is more like reminder list than tinder for what i want to have in my fridge :)
I suggest adding some algorithms to adjust users preferences whether it would be huge mappings and relations between products or some ml stuff.
Good luck
Pros:
ease of use
simple
lightweight
evolvable
Cons:
consider adding machine learning to deal with growing list of products
Hey cool work! You could also do whole meals, AKA what shall I eat this week? And then 'like' it to add the ingredients to your grocery list for the week (and receive the recipe!), then click 'Order' to automatically order the groceries from a company like Instacart. Lot of work though! :p
