Hey everyone, thanks for following Agent Pets
Since launch, the most-asked question was "does it work with Codex?" It does now:
Every Codex session gets its own pet on every page in Chrome
When Codex wants to run a command, the pet bounces: Allow or Deny right from the tab you're on
Type a reply into the pet and Codex gets it, whether it's idle or mid-task
It still works with Claude Code, OpenCode and omp, so if you run several agents side by side you see them all in one place.
Setup: npx getagentpets init, then open Codex once and trust the hooks with /hooks.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Aryan 👋
If you run a few coding agents at once, you know the feeling. You look away for a minute, and one of them has been stuck on a permission prompt in a terminal you weren't watching.
Agent Pets gives each Claude Code, OpenCode and omp session a little pet that walks along the bottom of your pages in Chrome. A capsule above it shows what it's doing (Thinking, Your Turn, Allow Bash?, Done), and when it needs you, it bounces. Click it to approve the command or send its next message, right from the tab you're on.
My favourite part: you can turn your own cat into a pet. Upload a photo, crop the face, pick a body colour, give it a name, and it joins the others.
It all runs locally. No account, no cloud, and your code and prompts stay on your machine.
The launch price is $6 one-time (regularly $25). One license covers 3 browsers, and there's a 7-day refund if it's not for you.
Honest limits: it's not on the Chrome Web Store yet, so setup is npx getagentpets init plus one Load unpacked. omp approvals still happen in the terminal. Auto-start and auto-update are macOS-only for now; on Linux and Windows you start it with npx getagentpets start.
I'd love to hear how setup goes for you, and which agent you'd like next!
@aryan_thakore Can agent pets support more coding agents in the future and will the local setup get easier
@shivam_kushwaha16 yes! Codex is next, then Gemini CLI, and agreed on setup and I want to make that smoother. which agent would you want most?
quick update from launch day
shipped two fixes since this morning:
Claude Code pets now show what Claude is saying again while it works (a recent Claude Code change had broken it)
claude -p and scripts no longer hang when Agent Pets is installed if you've already installed it, it updates itself on mac. on linux/windows run npx getagentpets update.
thanks to everyone trying it today, keep the feedback coming. codex support is next 👀
Does it work with conductor ?
@bengeekly Not yet, I'll add it to my list, just launched new version that works with Codex if you are into that. Thank you for the feedback!
This is fun. Hermes would be my pick for the next agent, since it runs most of my work alongside Claude Code. With Hermes added, every agent I run could be a pet walking along the bottom of my browser.
@simon_moxon True, Hermes would be a nice option to have, I've added it to my list. Thanks for the feedback!
A bouncing pet for an agent waiting on a permission prompt is a fun idea. The status above it gives the animation a practical reason to be there.
@oleksii_sekundant thank you, appreciate it! would love to hear what you think if you try it
