devpit is a native desktop app for running Claude Code agents. One terminal you actually watch, a board where moving a card runs real work, a cost on every agent call, and an orchestrator that sees every project at once. Local-first, open source.

The cost on every agent call is a nice touch. Does it show a running total per project or per day? I'd love to see where my money goes
@dan_kondziela Yes! The Usage menu offers additional information broken down by day, model, project, and session!
"a cost on every agent call" is the part I'd actually use daily. I run claude code sessions all day for Dial and have genuinely lost track of which terminal is burning tokens on something I forgot I kicked off an hour ago. does the cost number update live as a session streams, or only settle once a turn finishes - asking because the expensive moments are usually mid-turn when something goes sideways and I want to kill it before it finishes, not after
@galdayan I like using the orchestrator; it helps plan and execute only the specific task, avoiding excessive token usage.
@jholcode that's helpful but it's a slightly different question than mine - the orchestrator sounds like it keeps the plan itself cheap, which is great, but I was asking about the live number during a turn that's already running. if a turn goes sideways and starts burning way more than expected, do I see that climbing in real time so I can kill it mid-turn, or does the per-call cost only show up once the call actually returns
@galdayan Through your Claude account's orchestrator, you can view active sessions, the cost of each, and token usage.
Furthermore, I built the orchestrator using Claude itself to ensure efficiency when assigning tasks at the start of an agent session—preventing usage beyond your plan—and allowing you to update your preferences.
@jholcode gotcha, sounds like the answer is per-call, not live during the call - that's a totally reasonable place to draw the line, I was just checking since the difference matters if you're trying to kill a runaway turn before it finishes rather than just reviewing it after. appreciate you walking through it either way
Congrats on the launch! 🚀
the per call cost tracking is the bit i actually want. my problem is i only find out what something cost after its finished, so i guess before kicking off anything big and i guess badly.
does it do anything predictive or is it strictly after the fact?
even a rough estimate off similar past runs would change how i plan a day! 😃
