Your AI agents write the specs, plans and docs. DotMD is a native Mac Markdown app where you review them like a pull request: comment on exact lines, the agent fixes them over MCP, and you accept every change. Also a fast reader and editor: Mermaid, math, code, version history, search, PDF export. Everything stays on your Mac. Free to read.

@alexander_storozhenko Congrats on the launch! dotMD looks like a useful product. My one hesitation is pricing. I already pay $20/month for an AI model, so another $20/month for dotMD makes the total cost hard to justify. The $50 lifetime license also feels high for a tool that sits on top of something I’m already paying for. I’m happy to pay for good tools, but a lower monthly tier, a free tier for light use, or a lifetime price closer to $30 would make it an easy yes for me. This is just a suggestion and wishing you best of luck.
Thanks@mekartikshah, really appreciate the honest take! One clarification: Pro is $19.99 per year, not per month, so about $1.67/month and reading Markdown stays free forever. Pro is for editing, reviews and the MCP workflow. There’s a 3-day trial if you want to try it on your own specs. Noted on the lifetime price too, I’m listening to feedback like this.
how much of the doc does the agent get when it picks up a line comment over mcp, just that section?
@bbueno Good question! Over MCP the agent gets each comment with the exact quoted passage, its current line range and the comment itself, not the whole doc. The agent already has the file on disk, so it reads as much context as it needs around those lines (or the whole file when a comment asks for a doc-wide change), edits the file, then reports back exactly which lines it changed per comment. That’s how DotMD can show each fix right next to the comment.
