I've been using time-blocking for years but struggled to find a way to track the sessions without getting distracted. By using a 9-axis accelerometer, it maintains the simplicity of an hourglass, yet is adjustable from 1-100 minutes. ⏳ The development took over 2 years and served as a jumping off point to learn more about electronics, 3D printing, prototyping, and manufacturing. Beta testers included Cal Newport (Deep Work), David Sparks (MacSparky, Focused Podcast), Mike Vardy (Productivityist), and Anthony Ongaro (Break the Twitch) Launching on Kickstarter today- your support is appreciated! 🙌 Happy to discuss how it works or the process of bringing it to life!

@dzuverink Fascinating, how'd you get Cal Newport to test it?
Dave Zuverink
@_vojto I sent one to someone that knows him... they said they would put it in his hands.

Isn't is an app?
Dave Zuverink
@anastasia_mikeyeva no, this is not an app. It's an object you hold in your hand. It's not connected to any exterior technology aside from charging.

This looks awesome! My brother uses the Pomodoro app on a daily basis and I'm sure he'll love this product! Can't wait for it to be released. Will surely consider getting it. Great job! Congratulations on the launch!🚀

Ha! Nice idea 👏 Hourglass, but modern and adjustable. Amazing! Congrats on the launch. I believe products like this one should take more attention on PH and become at least the product of the day.
Dave Zuverink
@degisner Thanks for the kind words Andrew! Yeah although I live in Silicon Valley I'm bootstrapped and not well connected in the social spheres. So the chances of getting product of the day are slim compared to a SAAS but I thought I'd put it out there for you folks to enjoy :)

Congrats! Dave! It's my first time seeing hardware on PH, as a former mechanical engineer, I have to support this! Is it a prototype or in mass production?
Dave Zuverink
@danielwayne Thanks Daniel! Yeah hopefully this is a different take on making a smart object that doesn't rely on connectivity. What you see is a prototype that I made with resin 3D printing in my studio, combined with a custom circuit board we had produced as a small batch. I made 10 of them for beta testing and R&D. It's made by printing out each of the production CAD files and assembling them together... and now the factory is working on production. It's live on Kickstarter and we just crossed about 500 units so we're making a dent in the MOQs! Hit the Visit button to jump in :)

Want! 😍 Where do you ship from? I’m asking because I’m in Europe and wondering whether I’d have to pay duties (unless you’re taking advantage of the OSS scheme and duties are included in the price).
Dave Zuverink
@anna_0x Hey Anna! It'll most likely ship from the US and we mark it with replacement value to minimize customs and duties.
Anna Filou
@dzuverink thanks for the info!

As a maker of productivity software, it’s nice to see cool hardware as well
Dave Zuverink
@marco_ancona2 nice! Yeah I see them as totally complimentary. Software can help you plan, prioritize, and track... and then once you decide what to do, the timer can help you focus on it.
