Luci saves your screen history and meeting transcripts locally, so agents like Claude Code, Cursor and Codex can help you find a page you forgot to bookmark or recall a decision from a call. Capture context across apps without setting up a connector for each one. Includes on-device transcription and daily summaries with Microsoft Foundry Local. Free for Mac and Windows.

@pawelczyk_podmore How much storage should users expect a typical week of the screens and meeting history to use ??
@pawelczyk_podmore Can users exclude specific apps or website from screens captur???
@atul15 Yes, we have a setting option to select your privacy apps
@atul15 Storage varies with recording hours, capture settings, and meeting audio. We haven't measured a representative week's usage yet, so I don't have a reliable GB/week estimate to share. You can set automatic deletion of older history to manage disk use; by default, history is kept until you delete it.
@pawelczyk_podmore Happy launch day, LUCI! Curious to see how people use this to pick up unfinished work.
@pawelczyk_podmore can users exclude specific apps or website from screen capture???
@pawelczyk_podmore Congrats on the launch! Looking forward to seeing the screen memory search in action.
@curiouskitty The deciding question for us was: what happens when someone asks something the summary wasn't written to answer?
A recap says “launch planned for Friday,” but the actual conversation was “Friday, if security signs off.” An agent answering “can I tell the customer Friday?” needs that condition.
That's why we chose record-first. We can't predict what an agent will need to look up later, so we keep the captured screen context and searchable transcript, then build summaries on top. The agent can go back and check what a summary left out.
Hi @pawelczyk_podmore congratulations! cool product! remind me of rewind, wondering what is the different. also curious about how much storage it requires and which Mac chips it supports.
@danielwayne Thanks! The Rewind comparison makes sense. Our focus with Luci is making your screen history and transcripts searchable by AI agents through MCP and a CLI, so they can retrieve context for a task and check the original captures.
We support Apple Silicon Macs, M1 and later. Intel Macs aren't supported currently.
Storage depends on recording time, capture frequency, and image quality. You can adjust capture settings and configure automatic deletion of older recordings. History is kept indefinitely by default. I don't have a measured GB/day figure to share yet, and I'd rather give you a tested number than a guess.
Can users automatically delete history after a chosen number of days?
@romainlefort Yes! You can set how many days of history to keep, and Luci automatically deletes older records.
@romainlefort Adding to Runze's answer: retention is 7, 30, or 90 days, or keep everything. Since it all lives on your disk, deleting is real deletion, nothing left to purge from a server.
Usually i skip screen recording tools due to battery drain but local first architecture makes this worth trying.
@jennifer_wheatley Thanks for giving it a try! Local processing still uses power, so we’d love to hear how it affects battery life on your setup.
@jennifer_wheatley Thanks Jennifer. Battery is a real trade-off with local processing and we would rather be honest about it than hide it. If you notice a drain on your machine, tell us the model and we will look into it.
I would probably want different retention rules for meetings and general screen activity. Are those settings configurable separately?
@seanfalconer Not yet. You can set screen captures to auto-delete after 7, 30, or 90 days, or keep them indefinitely. There isn’t a separate automatic retention setting for meetings yet, but that distinction makes sense.
@seanfalconer Fair ask. Meetings and screen activity do have different lifespans, and separate retention rules is something we can add. Noted for the roadmap, thanks Sean.
Registration is full, I was waitlisted 😭
@adamelisha1 Sorry about that. Which registration was it? Luci itself has no waitlist, the app is a free download for Mac and Windows at luci.memories.ai. If you hit a signup wall somewhere on our side, tell me where and I will fix it.
