We all know what we should do. We just don’t do it. Mom Clock is a strict reminder and app blocker for people who keep negotiating with themselves. No snooze. No “just five more minutes.” No pretending. When it’s time, distractions are blocked and action is forced — like a mom standing behind you, watching. Built for procrastinators who are tired of disappointing themselves.

Mom Clock
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built Mom Clock because I was tired of lying to myself.
I’d plan my day, set reminders, ignore them, and still feel like I was “trying.”
The problem wasn’t motivation — it was that I kept negotiating with myself.
So I asked: what if a reminder didn’t negotiate?
Mom Clock is a strict reminder and app blocker.
When it’s time, it alarms and blocks distracting apps and forces you to act — no snooze, no “later.”
It's like a strict but caring mom watching you,
making sure you actually do what you promised.
It’s uncomfortable.
A little annoying.
And surprisingly effective.
If this sounds familiar, I’d love to hear what you think.

@justin2025 Quite creative approach! I'd legit get it for myself if it was available for android :(

@justin2025 Justin — love the concept. I came in thinking “this is a clever joke app,” but the caring angle really landed.
As a parent of three, I’m constantly telling my kids “time to study” or “okay, game time’s over”… while I’m over here making excuses for myself and doing whatever I want. Your post was a funny-but-painfully-honest mirror, and it actually made me reflect a bit.
Thanks for creating something that’s strict and kind in its own way. Rooting for you — excited to see where Mom Clock goes.
Mom Clock
@toyamarinyon This means a lot — thank you for sharing that.
That contrast you described (being strict with our kids, gentle with ourselves) is exactly the tension that led to Mom Clock. If it sparked even a small moment of reflection, then it’s already doing its job. Really appreciate the encouragement 🙏

@justin2025 I'm afraid of your logo :D with this app I will definitely do everything on time. Mom :D

@rocsheh Haha, love the “digital tough love” analogy!
Totally get the need for an emergency bypass — we’ve thought about that for those “call from mom” moments!
As for team/group accountability, it’s definitely something we’re exploring for the future — stay tuned! Thanks for the support, and happy New Year!
Agnes AI
@rocsheh Glad you love it! Great suggestion for team collaboration func and we definitely aim for it

As a developer, it’s rare to build something that intentionally annoys users —
but seeing people say “this finally made me do the thing” made it worth it.
Happy to answer any technical or product questions here 🙂
Mom Clock
@polman_trudo I guess being "annoyed into productivity" is the new motivation! 🤣

Hey PH fam - Happy New Year!!!
Jumping in here as the person helping shape how Mom Clock is presented to the world.
When Justin first showed me the early version, I didn’t think, “This is a productivity app.”
I thought, “This feels uncomfortably familiar.”
I’m the kind of person who loves planning.
Color-coded calendars.
Carefully written to-do lists.
And somehow… the important things still didn’t happen.
What surprised me most about Mom Clock wasn’t the app blocking.
It was the emotional reaction it created.
The first time it went off, I felt slightly annoyed — and then slightly exposed.
Like someone was watching me make excuses in real time.
From a marketing perspective, we usually try to make tools feel empowering or inspiring.
Mom Clock does something different: it removes the emotional escape hatch.
Working on this product forced me to confront my own habits more than I expected.
And that’s when I realized — this isn’t really about reminders.
It’s about honesty.
Curious how others here feel about that tension between comfort and accountability.
Let's start 2026 with Honesty.

@vouchy Absolutely that is real and your comment is so touching - that is why we build this little tiny tool which nonetheless could help you go towards your road. Hope it could be useful to all our friends!
Mom Clock
@vouchy Haha, you’re hitting the nail on the head!
I had a moment like that after a whole week of ignoring reminders to “start working on my goals.” By the end of the week, I realized I’d been convincing myself it was “fine” every single day. That’s when I knew Mom Clock was more than just a reminder app — it was my wake-up call! 😅
AITalk
Congrat! Mom no longer has to worry about my procrastination.

@zhangxing Thanks, Andy! Happy new year!
