Get Cited by ChatGPT & Ranked on Google

Most AI SEO tools tell you where you're mentioned and stop. RankControl runs the full lifecycle: create content that AI and Google recommend, published as native posts on your own domain. Track your AI visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and more, spy on competitor gaps, earn backlinks, turn articles into social drafts, and check analytics and AI crawl reports. One flat plan, 7-day free trial.

Hi Product Hunt, founder here.
I have done SEO throughout my 10+ year career, and I have worked with 2,000+ brands on various content marketing and SEO efforts. Over the last two years, I watched buyers stop searching Google and start asking ChatGPT and Claude instead. There was no way to show up in those answers except hand-crafting content and hoping. The tools that currently exist are mostly dashboards: they measure the problem and leave the fixing to you.
The concept is simple. Seven AI agents research what your buyers actually search, write long-form articles and publish them as native posts on YOUR domain (WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify, Ghost, Notion, Wix and more), then track your performance & citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Google AI, plus Google and Bing rankings. Auto-publish is off by default, so nothing ships until you approve it.
RankControl is my newest project. It helps you get cited by ChatGPT and Claude, and ranked on Google and Bing.
I built this fully bootstrapped. The lightweight checker on rctrl.com shows which questions ChatGPT cites you for right now, no signup.
RankControl ships the fix instead. With it, you can:
- Plan a month of content without needing any external tools
- Check winnability scores, approve titles; RankControl writes and publishes to your site
- Track your brand citations in AI answers across six engines
- Run the whole thing from Claude, ChatGPT or any AI agent (MCP & CLI)
Two things I would genuinely love feedback on: the approval workflow (too much control or too little?) and what would make you trust AI-written content on your own domain. I will be here all day. Ask me anything.

A huge thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us.
@chrismessina @r_sri_ram how seamlessly does this actually integrate with a custom Webflow setup? such a nice launch congrats for shipp...
@chrismessina @priya_kushwaha1 Hi Priya, Webflow is one of the easiest destinations to set up. You can just paste your Webflow API token and pick your site and blog collection. We have thoroughly tested it, and the posts go into your site as regular CMS items in your chosen template.
@chrismessina @r_sri_ram I like that RankControl covers both traditional SEO and visibility across different AI search tools. Having competitor gaps, backlinks, and crawl reports in the same place is useful.
@grayson_bass Hi Grayson! Yes, right now you either pay mid-to-high four figures to an agency or juggle 5–7 different tools for each task and copy-paste between them. That's exactly what we're trying to solve with RankControl.
@chrismessina @r_sri_ram tracking citations across multiples ai engines are the sounds useful and i also like that the approvals workflows, especially when ai is a publishing directly to your domains.
what is level of editing do the users usually make the before approvings an ai written article??
Congrats on the launch!
@amrita_prajapati2 Hi Amrita! Good question!
The editor supports a lot of features. Here are some of the basics. You can click anywhere in the editor and edit the headings, text, lists, callouts, FAQs and videos. You can also improve, expand, shorten or simplify any section with the "Rewrite with AI" feature. And you can add, remove or replace images, and drag them to a new position.
Auto-publish is off by default, so you review each draft first. You can turn on Auto-publish when you are confident.
are there limits on how many articles it can generate or publish during the free trial period? congrats🙌
@vikramp7470 the same daily limits apply for both trial and paid accounts. and per month its 100 articles irrespective of article length.
@r_sri_ram Congratulations on the launch. I wish you guys all the very best for your product.
I have only one question for the team. How is RankControl different from any other AI visibility product in the market?
@agzee Sorry for the late reply, PH notifications have been hit or miss for me today.
Most AI visibility products are monitoring tools. They show you where you're mentioned and stop. RankControl does the work after that. The difference is dashboard vs pipeline.
On measurement, we track two things most tools blur: whether you're named in the answer, and whether your page is the cited source. Pages that earn citations feed back into what gets planned next, and we study the answers in your topics to see what structure and sources win, including what competitors got cited for, and use that to shape the writing.
Some unique features on RankControl:
1. Winnability: it checks whether a title is winnable for a domain your size before writing a word.
2. It learns your writing style from the edits you make to drafts and saves that to your brand profile.
3. A daily check on whether the AI search bots can still reach your pages, so you hear the day a CDN starts blocking them.
4. You can manage your RankControl account fully using our MCP, CLI from your Claude, Codex, Cursor account or the API.
We're not trying to compete with the visibility dashboards. Our target is the business currently paying an agency $5k–$10k a month for this. We do the same work at a fraction of the cost.
Thanks for the detailed response, @r_sri_ram. The dashboard vs pipeline distinction is clear. Will be interesting to see how well the citation feedback loop translates into actual ranking and visibility gains over time. 👍🏼
ChatGPT answers are the new search results, does RankControl show which ones cite you?
Small gift from my team: a free page measuring RankControl: https://upcontrol.io/status/rctrl-com
@alekseisharuk Yes. You pick the questions that matter to your business, and every week we ask each of them in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Google AI Mode in a fresh session with web search on, then record the answer. For each one you see whether you were named, whether your page was the cited source, and which URLs the answer actually pointed to, plus the answer text. If you want a quick look before signing up, the free checker on rctrl.com runs a live sample of this for any domain, no account needed.
@r_sri_ram thanks for the deep dive!
Great tool, great idea. We'd like to see more subscription model options, at least more elastic charging models that covers from students to SMEs. (A content creator student sent me this tool and told he may use this tool for his own visibility)
@denizcanilgin Hi Deniz, Thanks a lot for the feedback. We currently do not have any plan to introduce new tiers.
This is, in general, a good idea.
@busmark_w_nika Hi Nika, thanks a lot for commenting. "In general" sounds like you have some doubt in your mind. What would it take for that to be cleared?
@r_sri_ram I meant that this is a good idea for any business since AI started to be preffered source of information. It was a compliment :D
genuinely skeptical of the "track citations across ChatGPT/Perplexity/Claude" part specifically, not the content or backlink side which seems solid. google rankings are at least a stable, queryable thing you can check against a real index. what a chat model says back to any given user is non-deterministic, personalized by conversation history, and there's no public API that tells you what it told someone else. so what's actually being measured there, repeated sample queries against a fresh session as a proxy? if so that seems worth stating up front since it's a proxy, not a citation count
@galdayan Yes, it's a proxy. So, each of the AI search engines are asked the same set of tracked questions on a weekly basis. Each of these questions is asked in a new session with no prior chat history and web search enabled. We note which sources the answer cites. Running the citation checks once per week is the right balance.
This is why we’re checking every week with the same set of questions and recording the answers for direction and for comparison with competitors on the same questions. We then also record the Google rankings for the answers to give you the hard numbers.
@r_sri_ram that's a fair methodology, honestly more rigorous than I expected. one follow-up: do customers actually see the raw sample, like "cited in 4/7 weekly runs" or is it rolled up into a single visibility score? I'd trust the number a lot more if the proxy stayed visible instead of getting compressed into something that looks like a clean citation count again.
@galdayan Yes, we have included a Citation Log, i.e. a list of all the individual runs for a sample of queries per engine per weekly check, stating whether you got cited that week or not. Also, a query-by-engine grid, that distinguishes between “you got mentioned in the answer” and “your domain was the cited source”. It also lists all the URLs that were cited in the answer as well as the answer text itself. Importantly, the raw data always wins over the aggregated score.
