Before you launch a link building campaign this 2024. You need to do this first.

It's 2024. Now is a good time to review your backlink profile. Link rot affects all websites where you lose a portion of the backlinks you've built. Possible causes of link rot are from content updates, redirected blog posts or removed pages. Good news is that it's very easy to identify link rot. I use Ahrefs for this example. 1. Plug-in your website on site explorer. 2. Go to the referring domains tab and use the following filters (set domain filter to dofollow, lost links and back it up to 1 year) Note: You can also set the filter to nofollow, if you want to keep your other nofollow backlinks. 3. Once you have a list of sites you've lost over the past 12 months - reach out to each of these lost opportunities and inform the editor about your previous link. But keep these questions in mind while sending your outreach email: - Is your link still a useful resource for the updated page? - Was there a specific reason why your link got removed? - Is there any way you can avoid this from happening in the future? Best of luck!
