How do you decide if you want to spend energy to build something? Is there a mental model or thought process you follow?

This a big problem for me. I have several ideas daily, take notes and it's usually painful to pick one and go. From past experience the biggest factor I look is distribution. I ask myself questions like? Can I reach those users? Do they already trust me or do I have to build trust? Can I find any online community I could join? And so on. Now I joined a cohorst course who focus on launching products as small bets. It's really interesting. The mental model suggested here is different: - Is this something that I could bring to market with minimal effort? - Is this something I could build and market on my own? - Is it something that already sell? (the idea is to avoid innovate to much and look for things people are already used to buy) - Does it have a high running cost? I still haven't tried using it but other people on the cohorst did successfully.
