We built this app because so many of us are living paycheck to paycheck and trying to do more with our money while still paying the bills. Creating a budget and managing every dollar can be tedious and overwhelming. Who wants to deal with complicated spreadsheets or check their bank accounts every day? Astra is designed to make it super easy to automate your savings and see where your money is going at a glance. Our new iOS app helps you automatically put funds aside for your savings goals—anything from starting a rainy day fund to paying off student loan debt to going on vacation. All you have to do is connect your bank accounts, input your goals, and create the rules to fund them. Then sit back and let Astra get to work! Our mission? Make it easier than ever to manage your money, so you can achieve your financial goals and don’t have to deal with the stress of living one paycheck at a time. We’ll also have a caffeine giveaway running for the next week for the Product Hunt community, brought to you through a Kitty - Otis collaboration. @astra @mijustin Not yet, but we are working on it for our friends up north 👆! Unfortunately, our banking systems and regulations are vastly different from one country to the next. Taking Astra international will take some time, but we’re excited to expand to countries outside of the US, especially 🇨🇦. In the meantime, we’ll be working hard to make the app the best it can be for the US market before i18n.

Pros: One centralized place to create, manage and see all my recurring transfers! More visibility = more peace of mind, for me. Way better experience for me than going through the different banks' interfaces Cons: Product-wise none so far, although on onboarding it'd be great to be able to sync my accounts first, before having to create a transfer.

@bitrewards Thanks! Security is definitely a big priority for us at Astra. We use robust measures to keep your data safe - for instance, we never store your online banking credentials (thanks to Plaid!) and we use identity verification when you sign up. And we never share or sell your data to 3rd parties, ever!

@chanfest22 Thanks!! We are big fans of CoinTracker, so the feedback means a lot. We focused on iOS first because the majority of our early adopters were using Apple devices and because we wanted to get it right on one platform first. An Android version is a high priority for us, and we’re already working on it. 🤖

@charleyma Thank you! Otis is our friendly octopus mascot. With his eight tentacles, he can easily connect to all of your accounts and manage all the transfer rules you set up with Astra. He also runs all the email and push notifications Astra sends. He's a busy cephalopod! Otis also likes to drink coffee and share his love of caffeine with Astra's early users. ;)

@andy_payne Thanks! We really worked hard to make the process of setting up a bank transfer painless. Depending on your bank this may take a dozen or so steps on their website. With Astra, we want it to be simple and straightforward so you can move your money as you wish!

A cool savings app that doesn’t make you feel bad about yourself.
