Hello Product Hunt. Weā€™ve been counting down the days on our Astro Calendar until this launch, and weā€™re happy to be back on Product Hunt. Thanks to Andrew for hunting us and to you for checking us out. We'll be answering questions here today and weā€™re excited to hear your feedback. šŸ“… šŸ¤– šŸŽØ The highlights of todayā€™s launch are an intelligent built-in Calendar, Astrobot and AI updates, @mentions, and an updated design. Here's more detail about what we're launching today: šŸ“… CALENDAR * View, add and manage your calendar directly from Astro * Customizable views: Switch between Agenda, Daily, and 3 Day views, and choose Gmail and Office 365 accounts and calendars to display * Agenda view: Get a complete picture of whatā€™s happening today. Snoozed emails, emails scheduled for later, and Reminders show up with your events in Agenda view. šŸ¤– ASTROBOT UPDATES *Astrobot uses machine learning to help you clean up your inbox, manage your day, and stay on top of whatā€™s most important. * Weā€™ve improved Astrobotā€™s natural language understanding, added new Astrobot Insights, new Ask Astrobot commands, and made everything more discoverable. āš”ASTROBOT INSIGHTS * Astrobot Insights remind you to follow up on important emails and questions, suggest emails to archive or unsubscribe from, and let you know when tracked emails get opened. * New Insight: Astrobot identifies emails that contain a time suggestion or due date, then Astrobot highlights this time-specific request so you donā€™t miss it. * New Insight: Reference teammates using an @mention to highlight their name and have Astrobot notify them. šŸ’¬ ASK ASTROBOT * Astrobot responds to hundreds of commands that help you manage your inbox and Calendar. * Weā€™ve added a lot of new commands based on your requests, and of course, some to help you manage your Calendar. TRY ASKING: * Create new folder called ā€œProduct Hunt Greatnessā€ * Search for emails from Ryan Hoover * Move emails from producthunt.com to folder Product Hunt Greatness * Archive emails older than 14 days * Add event called download Astro today at 10 am Thereā€™s a lot more info on our blog, helloastro.com/blog/astro-brings-ai-to-email-and-now-calendar-too šŸ’Œ Thanks for checking us out. We can't wait to hear what you think.

@mentions @mention @apflaum I've been really happy with the beta of Astro 3. There is room for improvement on making calendar events (and invites in particular) better, but I'm excited about the integration.
Andy Pflaum
@jeremychrysler Thank you for the feedback, and we've noted your comments on invites. Also FYI we're nominated for Product Hunt's Mobile App of the Year and would love your vote! https://www.producthunt.com/post...

@apflaum Google Assistant support in the pipeline? Also, does Signatures sync, finally across platforms/ apps? šŸ¤”
@Bernardamus
@apflaum compliments for the update, I just have a bullet point in my wishlist: what about Canned Responses?
@Bernardamus
@apflaum is it possible to connect the Facebook calendar too? To get a full overview of my events...

I switched to Astro this fall for all of my email and love it. I was initially surprised by how much I liked the chatbot, and with this update, itā€™s won me over even more. Also really excited about the addition of Calendar. Makes it a lot easier than switching between apps to figure out whatā€™s going on in my day. Congrats to the team on the huge update!

No iCloud support. No IMAP support. Not a real full email client. Yet. By the way, the "not yet supported" ambiguity has been said since the beginning of Astro. I'd be happier if they were not unclear anymore and simply said "we won't support it". Then users like myself wouldn't waste time expecting it..
Maddy Klein
@lyondhur We do plan to support additional services such as iCloud, Outlook.com, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and FastMail, although our timing is uncertain, as our first priorities are the business email services, Gmail/GSuite and Office 365. And to be fair in terms of expectations, I wouldn't say our delivery of this would be very soon. ā€‹ You can read more details here in our FAQs, https://help.helloastro.com/acco... and meantime I've added your 'vote' for this in our feature-request database. Please feel free to let us know if you have any additional feedback or questions.
LyondhĆ¼r Picciarelli
@maddysklein you have been saying the exact same thing since astro went up online for the first time. Sorry guys, I need more and I'm no longer buying it. I've been with the competition for a while and am not seeing you on the landscape anymore. For me, wrong strategy to promise/commit to something without a deadline.. over and out.

I really like this as it makes me think that I am actually getting through emails and I am actively finding ways to reduce the bulk of things I don't look at anymore.

Pros:

Multiple accounts, calendar addition is great, actionable unsubscribes, VIP contacts and a whole heap more.

Cons:

none as yet

I have been back and forth with Astro so much over the past few months... falling in love with it, then deleting the app when it didnā€™t have what I wanted to trying other apps only to come back to Astro! It is a staple and itā€™s the best one out there that works for me and trust me I have literally tried them all. I am so excited about the update! For some reason itā€™s not showing a notification for an update in my App Store app yet but as soon as it does Iā€™m going to update my App Store review!

woah....i'm 100% impressed with astro. being cross-platform (including android AND iOS) this early on in the game is what attracted me to try it out. i finally had settled on Spark until i found astro a few weeks ago. it does everything i loved about Spark, but then adds this AI bot that i didn't know i needed. it's actually super useful. On top of all this, the design is top-notch!

Quite possibly the smoothest email experience šŸ˜ƒ

I've been using Astro on and off for about a year now. I use it on mobile far more than desktop. It has all the standard features you'd expect out of a modern email app (snoozing, follow-ups, etc). I mainly like it because it nudges better behavior in my emails. The "would you like to make ___ a VIP?" is my most frequently used nudge, the daily roll-ups are informative, and the read receipts come in very handy. Overall I like that it has a distinct look and feel without compromising usability or reliability.

Pros:

Fast, fluid, easy, solid, reliable, has personality

Cons:

I don't embrace the bot as much as i should, so that's on me

Emily Kramer
We've made using Astrobot a lot easier, by breaking out Insights and putting suggestion cards for Ask Astrobot commands. Hope this helps you get more use out of it! And thanks for the comment.
Wil Parker
Been using Astro for months and I absolutely love it. The key for me is reliability and for me, Astro has the most of it. Stay true to your core and continue to make a solid and STABLE product.

Just added my review as well. I've been using Astro on and off for a year now and love it. Slack integration is very clever ā€” I find i really prefer it to system notifications, as I can be much more selective with my attention towards them. Like @nikenn, I switch email apps frequently but Astro remains one I keep coming back to.

I've been using Astro for months and I've found it to be the best email client I've ever used. It's fast. Search works well. I can use it on both my Office 365 corporate email and my personal email. The snoozing is easy and really helps in keeping a clean inbox and organized follow ups.

Pros:

Great snoozing. Office365 Support. Desktop and Mobile clients

Cons:

just small quibbles honestly

Emily Kramer
Thanks for the review Jeremy!
Micah Baldwin
I've been using Astro as my primary email for quite awhile now. Fast iterations, solid interface, etc. I do love the Alexa integration, and tend to use it frequently. Still trying to figure out how to use the conversational interface effectively, but I think that is more that I am old, than it isnt helpful.
Emily Kramer
@micah We hope you try out Astrobot again, we've added a lot of new commands and made them much easier to discover.
Henrik Lenerius
@apflaum, thank you once again for an outstanding email client! Could you provide any update on if/when we can expect integration to OmniFocus? The one thing that is missing for me, else you'd be perfect!
Ammar Alakkad
Seems interesting, just had a concern, why it's free? how are you guys making profit?
Ammar Alakkad
@tafkaf I couldn't find it, can you elaborate more or give me a keyword to search for it?
Ricardo Gaddini

Just want a app to use in all plataforms. All in there is awesome, just a detail yet. Congrats!

Pros:

Pretty smart

Cons:

Dont have Desktops or Windows Store apps.

Emily Kramer
We have a Mac desktop app, download it at helloastro.com. Thanks for your review!
Tarun Gangwani
Astro is my favorite e-mail app. The performance of the app is fantastic, the sync works well and the little suggestions for VIPs and decluttering of my inbox is superb. Calendar integration is a huge +1 from me. It synced my events very well. My only concern is notes from the organizer are unviewable, meaning any video call information doesn't show up. My previous favorite app for meetings also pulled in the dial in info, allowing me to one click start a meeting. Surely an AI capable calendar would do such a function... Great work!
Andy Pflaum
@tarungangwani Thank you! Please keep the feedback coming, we really appreciate it. Also we're in the running for the Product Hunt Mobile App of the Year, and would love your upvote on it :-) https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Maddy Klein
@tarungangwani Thanks for your feedback! I just tested this, and notes from the organizer are both viewable in the invite and once the calendar event is accepted. Would you mind providing more details to support@helloastro.com? We'd love to help troubleshoot.
Eugene Kruglov
Do I understand it right there is no IMAP support in Mac app?
Emily Kramer
@tahorg Not currently, just Office 365 and Gmail.
Benji Greenberg
They crushed it. Makes email a bit easier to manage but way more enjoyable.
Sebastian Heyneman

I find the same challenge in Astrobot that I find in other bots. What's the point? Typically, it recommends to move people to VIP -- that doesn't do much for me.

Great app, awesome for inbox zero.

Pros:

Great UX, Fast Speed, Easy Archive and Snooze Features

Cons:

Astrobot doesn't do much for me

Henrik Lenerius

Very good email client, constantly adding new features!

Pros:

Best email client I've tried, except for ...

Cons:

... lack of integration to OmniFocus with link back to email
