More than a writing assistant, Coda AI lets you automate entire workflows by summarizing notes, analyzing data, and simultaneously generating results for every row in a table.
Last year, as generative AI started to take off, we were immediately excited by the possibilities. While we were impressed by the ability for AI act as a writing assistant, we were more intrigued by the question: what could an AI work assistant do?
So we began early explorations — first creating an integration with OpenAI, where users embraced the ability to do things like generate tweets or write summaries. It soon became clear that the ability to combine AI with Coda’s other building blocks — like tables that talk to each other, buttons that take action, and the ability to sync data from tools like Salesforce and Zoom — was incredibly powerful. So we got to work on a native integration.
Today, I’m excited to announce Coda AI as your new AI work assistant. Coda AI can not only help you finish an individual task, but make progress, as it fits seamlessly into your team’s workflows.
Here’s a look at each feature.
* AI assistant: your new collaboration partner. AI assistant can draft content, suggest edits, generate tables, find information, reference your data, and more.
* AI column: make any table magical with auto-generated custom content — that scales. Use AI column to expand your data, or help you organize it.
* AI block: turn information into insights with AI block. Great for pulling out summaries and action items, converting data to text, and more.

Have been using this for a little bit, and it's been super helpful to quickly brainstorm ideas or write first drafts. I'm excited to keep trying it and see where it goes!

As a marketer, I've found Coda AI incredibly helpful for unblocking me throughout the day--here are some of my favorite examples:
- using Coda AI to turn my raw notes and thoughts into a brief, so I can get feedback from others quickly.
- helping me visualize options, by "writing the press release" for 10 taglines or ideas.
- generating demo data for gifs, or to otherwise show a product flow.
I love that I can @ reference other pages or tables in my prompt--it makes it so much easier to get the customized output I want. I also like that I can use AI column to write one prompt, and as I add more data, it automatically populates the cell.
I encourage everyone to check it out!

This looks amazing! Love the thought of offloading your busy work and freeing up your time for actual work. Congrats on the launch and looking forward to watching Coda evolve!
Coda AI is changing the game in my workflow as a project manager. Not only to help summarize things like notes, but to help with flows like assigning t-shirt sizes according to task effort that I have input automatically. Can't wait to see how folks use it next.
I have used Coda in the past as a previous job and the CTO was a Coda expert so I am sure he is really happy about today's launch! 😁 For companies relying on Coda for internal documentation, it's a gamechanger 🚀

Coda AI has proven an invaluable tool for us. It goes beyond providing writing assistance to enabling us to quickly generate tables, map data, create meaningful selection options, and overall speed up the delivery of more intelligent workflows. We love the new ability to pull multiple datasets together for a prompt using formulas!
