What a great day today! An idea 💡 became a concept, grew to a prototype, was ready for alpha-tester and now we announce the Beta launch of our platform! Beta because we’d love to get more feedback from you on the flow, the looks, the feel and of course the missing features to have DataSquirrel become your go-to platform for anything Data. I have been always on the bridge between business and IT. Learned myself programming at 12 (Sinclair ZX-81 baby!) and after a career with roles like solution architect, delivery manager, as well as co—founding several companies, this is the first attempt to solve a big frustration… Getting grasps on a new set of data, and the analysis of it, takes hours or days. Even tough I speak python and Excel-formulae fluently. I also see many colleagues/managers/directors struggling with the fact they always need to rely on an Excel-guru, or the Engineering department or the Data-team to get insights on which they base their business decisions. Sometimes because of lack of skill, sometimes because the time to dive in is lacking! It is time to re-empower all professionals in dealing data and statistics by facilitating the data exploration process, guide the analysis, prevent mistakes due to dirty data, and help collaboration. We believe in empowering and educating professionals and grow data literacy, to stay relevant in today’s fast pacing and data-driven business environments. The new kid on the block since a few months is OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT, as part of all the Generative AI initiatives. While promising solutions (currently on the top of the technology hype cycle), experts are careful about it’s applications and it information security. Therefore we have chosen to not upload any data to a Large Language Model transformer like ChatGPT, because: (a) it is not secure in any way (b) RLHF - what is AI learning from your data and how is it distributed? In short, nobody knows exactly what OpenAI does with your data if you would upload it in their platform. That being said, AI is progressing rapidly and so is DataSquirrel, and we use AI tooling in a secure and privacy-centred way, and will only share header information of your files with 3rd parties, for different functions of our platform. This also decreases the risk of hallucination, a common risk, completely undesirable in a business situation with real and sensitive data. It’s an exciting world out there currently, and my co-founder @aakriti_mahajan1 and I are getting inspired from all the feedback and ideas we receive on a daily basis! Data Squirrel is fantastic! It makes sorting and deriving insights csvs easier than ever! My use case was identifying pricing information and for a hotel from occupancy data. With a couple of simple clicks, a massive excel file suddenly became easy to work with and generate reports from. from As a proud alpha tester, happy to see DataSquirrel's beta launch on PH!

Congratulations on the launch Aakriti and Martijn! Super fortunate to be an Alpha user and see Datasquirrel into what it is today. More power to you guys and can’t wait to see what comes next. Have been using datasquirrel since I’ve gotten Alpha access, and it has immensely simplified my workflow to find insights as a PM. What I particularly like 1. DS helps me get to starting point on finding insights from a dataset in minutes. No need to write our SQL or clean the data before I start playing with it. 2. My workflow inevitably required data analysts to first extract the insights I needed and then play around with them on a sheet. DS eliminates that need and takes it from days to minutes. 3. A lot of my job is playing around with datasets to uncover user insights from conversion data and usage data. DS makes that starting point happen in minutes and also allows me to create custom graphs to showcase the insight and share them. 4. Might just be me, but I appreciate the no BS UI that gets me to where I need to be ASAP, without unnecessary animations and flows. Overall, DS has become a integral part of my PM workflow and I love it! Look forward to when y’all integrate live sheet updates and see what y’all build with the new chatGPT plugins.
