What do you think Product Hunt is missing? What would you improve?
I absolutely love this platform.
The fact that I spend time here every single day is probably proof enough. 😄
That said, after spending so much time on Product Hunt, I've noticed a few basic things that I personally miss:
the ability to bookmark discussions
the option to add someone to a discussion forum as a co-creator
option to revisit “products I interacted with but forgot about” (or something like a reminder)
scheduling a post
I also kind of miss the old "Notify Me" page – I know, I'm being very nostalgic here 😄
I'm curious:
If you could add, remove, or improve one feature on Product Hunt, what would it be? (I remember that many of you used to ask for a DMs option)

Awesome topic, @busmark_w_nika Nika!
Right away:
DMs: There are so many amazing people on this platform it's almost criminal. Everyone here is incredibly interesting, but we can't actually message each other. We have to find people on LinkedIn or X/Twitter... and it's just not the same. I'd love to have the option to send direct messages right here on the platform.
Analytics: I'm talking about audience insights for people who upvote your product. For example, being able to see that 25% of them are developers, founders, marketers, etc. Basically, having more relevant data that's visible and easy to access. It would be incredibly helpful for teams when analyzing their launch performance.
Teaser page: Yes, absolutely. I love seeing who's launching in the coming days so you can plan your strategy accordingly.
Featured / non-featured status in advance: It would be really helpful if products could get some sort of pre-launch indication about whether they're likely to be featured. And if they're not, at least you'd know something needs improvement. A lot of teams would probably make adjustments before launch if they knew they were missing something important.
Co-hunting and co-posting: I'd happily co-hunt products. I first saw this idea from @rohanrecommends and completely support it. And, as @busmark_w_nika Nika mentioned, I'd also love the ability to add co-creators to discussions.
Post scheduling: Absolutely yes, especially with the ability to choose a specific time. Posts often take a while to get approved, which makes it hard to predict when to submit them so they go live exactly when you want. Mine always end up being published at different times, which makes the whole process a bit unpredictable.
Events: I'd also add events to the list. There used to be Product Hunt events in the past, but there aren't many anymore. I'd love to see the Product Hunt team organize more events across the US and Europe. And even if they don't organize them directly, it would be great if they supported local communities that want to host them. I'd happily organize a meetup myself.

@busmark_w_nika @rohanrecommends @byalexai I also miss the teaser page, with the tag on the profile launching soon.
And I would 100% go to event if there were or even organize them.

@rohanrecommends @byalexai I think that you completed a solid list and need to say that every idea seems to be useful to me. Even the new ones for me that I wasn't thinking about too much (e.g. Analytics) – are absolute gold!
@busmark_w_nika @rohanrecommends @byalexai on the dms point i actually think that's what makes ph different. everything here is public and intentional. if you upvote, comment, or encourage something, you're doing it because you mean it, not because someone nudged you privately.
adding dms might close some gaps but it also opens the door to the same noise that makes other platforms exhausting. and honestly, if a conversation is worth taking further, the profile links are right there for linkedin, x.
ph feels more real partly because it doesn't push people toward each other. it just lets them show up.
Yeah, Hi Nika,
I am completely new here and really struggling to find my way around and connect. I haven't put my finger on where, just yet, but I know it could be easier.
I see the value though, so I am willing to put the hours in to learn!

@mark_trowbridge Everything will be smooth! :)
@busmark_w_nika Thank you for your feedback

@evelyn_aniah But wouldn't be too much spam here?

1/ Notifications feel broken to me. During a launch, you get notifications, but nothing shows properly.
2/ A clearer idea of where we have the right to post or not. General feels very closed, and that's okay. But having a bit more clarity about it, and maybe a second "General" channel with a bit more freedom, could help.
3/ Filters at the top of the page to show/hide products from the home page.
4/ Gamifying a bit more: Using point to boost, post, Hunt... Allowing some actions depending on badges

@bengeekly I also have a problem with notifications – if someone comments on my threads, not every comment is counted, and after a week, I am noticing that I haven't replied to some things because I didn't get notifications.
Honest follow-up visibility. Most products get one day of traffic and disappear - there's no real mechanism to resurface them after they've shipped major updates or hit milestones. A "what happened next" feed would be genuinely useful and keep the community more engaged long-term

@antwon_randolph2 Something like "Memories"? Because sometimes that follow-up is done via their newsletter reflection.
If P.H. needs extra administrators/moderators, you are an ideal fit. Also, if you are not in MENSA, you should be.

@bruce23 Thank you! It is lovely to hear these compliments. :D :)
@busmark_w_nika You're truly welcome. Continued successes in all your present & future endeavors.
I'd love to see a better support option on Product Hunt.
Right now it seems like the main way to contact their official support is by email, and their replies are mostly AI-generated. I remember there used to be a small support chat window on the PH web where you could contact the support team more directly. Having that kind of support window back would make it much easier to get help.
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
@evakk yeah, they led it via Intercom, but I think that now they have fewer customer support members than before.
@busmark_w_nika That's ture. It feels a bit hard to actually reach a human support member now. I have to go back and forth a few times with AI-generated replies before getting a response from the support team.
We need moar topic forums!
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
@sk_uxpin What kind of forums? :)
@busmark_w_nika I'm referring to the ones in the left sidebar - I can see only five of them: general, vibecoding, ama, introduce-yourself, self-promotion. I bet there's more things to discuss than these five :)
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
@sk_uxpin aaa okay, now it is more clear :)
Hi Nika,
Thank you for this. I am new here, and I got my entire team on the platform.
But once here, we followed everything by the rules, and we still couldn't see comments, only upvotes.
We launched and nothing..
No KP's being added, and after several weeks of back and forth with the email given.. I think now I can comment... I am still not sure about other members of my team.
So a bit confusing as to what needs to be done.

@gia_khan Hey Gia, and did you discuss this with the internal team of PH?
@busmark_w_nika Oh, I tried, but apart from 4 times, no one else reached out.
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
@evelyn_aniah I think that @fmerian at leats does some job threads. But I was thinking about this option on the platform too.
