Insync 1.4 transforms Google Drive into a mini file manager and supports sync on-demand, activity feed, previews, right-click functionality and Team Drive syncing all from your taskbar!
I've been using Insync for over a year on Linux Mint and it works perfectly. Fast and easy to setup. The biggest compliment I can give is that I completely forget it's there as it happily runs in the background.
However, I don't understand the point of this.. All my files are synced to a local folder already, and Insync already has a context menu.
Perhaps I'm not your target user?
@scotty_bowler Insync 1.4 still happily runs in the background if that is your preference but we are in the early stages of re-imagining what a modern file manager can be. The first part of that is combining a syncing engine and a file manager interface to bring them under one app, which is what 1.4 brings. To initially differentiate from File Explorer/Finder, we have focused on quick access via a taskbar icon which allows you to sync on-demand and preview Google Drive files.
Thanks for supporting us :)
@abadesi Thanks for hunting and sharing us with the PH community!
Hello all!
We are excited to announce Insync 1.4, which transforms Google Drive into a mini file manager and supports sync on-demand, activity feed, previews, right-click functionality and Team Drive syncing all from your taskbar!
Insync has been known as a cross-platform premium Google Drive sync client for a number of years now. But our vision has always been more than about syncing files between local and cloud.
With Insync 1.4, we have taken the initial steps of reinventing the file manager.
The desktop file manager hasn’t really changed since the early days of Windows Explorer/Finder. Comparing screenshots then to now, they look and function pretty much the same way. But our data, how we manage and consume them have all changed.
The file manager is the gateway to your data and we believe that it needs to be re-imagined for today’s modern needs.
Here’s more in our blog post: https://www.insynchq.com/blog/in...
I’d love to hear your comments and happy to answer any questions.
And yes, we support Windows, Mac and Linux :)

@abadesi@terencepua but then again there's KDE's dolphin, which is pretty advanced and natively integrated into the desktop, you could just add InSync as a KIO slave and have it integrated into dolphin as a normal share.
Hey guys! I'm really happy the update, which we worked on for /months/, made it to the PH community.
To be clear, Insync has a 15-day full free trial, then requires a paid license per account after that. BUT our pricing is one-off - meaning no annual fees! We also have a 30-day money back guarantee + the code "PRODUCTHUNT" for 20% off :)
Just download the app and sign in with your Google Drive account to start your free trial.
Feedback very welcome for improvements!
Hi Tom, you may email support@insynchq.com for any issues. And I added a comment below to clarify our pricing - thanks for the feedback.
As for deleting, please try removing your account, quitting the app, then deleting. (To remove your account: https://forums.insynchq.com/t/ho...)

What's the difference between this app and Google Drive for Mac?
@looksawesome The GDrive app is a sync client only. While still early (and it still looks like a toy), Insync 1.4 combines a syncing engine with file management including previews, context menu and activity feed.

@terencepua I don't get it. I can do all of that already with Google Drive for Mac.
@looksawesome Beyond those things, Insync 1.4 also supports multiple accounts, syncing on-demand, merging cloud + local folders, previews of all files (even when not synced) and a bunch of other things :)
We'd love to hear what problems you currently have with Google Drive for Mac so that we can include them in a future Insync version, even if this one doesn't solve any of your problems today :)

This looks like a good idea! I'm sorry, but I have to ask. How is this different from Google Drive app for Mac?

Uses up all my bandwidth/packets in latest versions which is a disappointment as the other versions have been great for me and my teams.
Pros:Great in theory and previous versions.
Cons:Eats too much bandwidth/packets
