After MacOS 26 Tahoe was released many people asked theirselves (me included): wtf? where is the launchpad. Give me my launchpad back That's where I decided to take it in my own hands and program a powerful replacement, that might outperform even the OG Launchpad from pre macos 26. Hope you like it! Yes, it's free

Nice throwback! Bringing Launchpad flexibility back to macOS feels long overdue IMO. Does Launchie sync folder setups or shortcuts across devices, or is it local-only for now?

Nick Friedrich

@roozbehfirouz thanks! Currently local only, but this is a nice idea for future versions! Will add it to my feature wishlist

This is exactly what I needed...... missing Launchpad after upgrading to MacOS 26 has been driving me crazy. Great to see you tackled this solo. Is there a way to customize app groups too?

Nick Friedrich

@cruise_chen Thank you!

I am actively developing the app, there are a lot of features on my todo :)

Could you specify what you mean with customize app groups? Different Folder colors?

Finally, a Mac launchpad alternative that’s actually searchable and modern! Congrats on building such a clean experience.

Isn't this Launchpad in Tahoe?

Ah, I see. Tahoe removed icon rearranging and custom folders...

Love how Launchie brings more customization back to Launchpad — drag & drop, custom folders, and hotkeys sound like a productivity boost for macOS users. Great to see a free tool that enhances usability. Curious — does it also support smart search or app grouping based on usage patterns?
