Quadratic AI - The AI spreadsheet with code and connections
by•
Quadratic is a modern spreadsheet with native AI, code, and data connections built-in. Chat with your data, create interactive charts, and get insights in seconds right from your browser. No setup required.
We built Quadratic to make it possible for anyone to understand and work with data. Quadratic's AI can code, write formulas, build visualizations, and interface with database connections all in a familiar interface. We are excited to hear your feedback and questions. Thanks for checking us out!
@matt_billiodeaux the reference notation for cells in the negative axes was challenging, moving to positive only allows us to use A1 references which are much more intuitive.
@matt_billiodeaux love the honesty. I miss the infinite grid sometimes myself. But as a whole, I think it remains a compelling product the way all the pieces (revised and otherwise) fit together.

@jim_nielsen@davidkircos Agreed the change nets productivity! The intuitivity gains were well worth the trade off! Just want my cake and to eat it too :}
Either way, there is nothing like Quadratic on the market or off the market :)
This is such an interesting tool! Seems much easier to work with than manually creating graphs on google sheets! The only thing I would be worried about is if google starts adding in AI functionalities to google sheets directly, just curious how do you plan to differentiate yourselves if/when this happens?
@elliezub Thanks! With AI everyone is getting more comfortable using code, so supporting code natively is a must for AI powered tools. Quadratic natively supports Python and SQL alongside formulas this enables users to do much more complex analysis in a much more elegant way.
@sam_pieces appreciate the support Sam! Can you export workflow activity or LTM info from Pieces as .csv? That would be very interesting to dig into with Quadratic

I’ve been using Quadratic for the past two months, and the AI is truly impressive. It has become my go-to platform for working with files that contain tables, providing far better insights than any other platform I've used.
@mia618601587321 Great question, Quadratic is a spreadsheet where you can pull in data from a lot of sources and analyze it using Python, JavaScript or Formulas. The best part is you can make AI to do all of this for you. Quadratic already handles large datasets pretty well, more exciting things coming soon. Please check it out and let us know if you have any feedback.
@mia618601587321 our spreadsheet isn't built primarily for handling big data, but we do have big data performance improvements in our roadmap. Right now, I'm able to handle a few hundred thousand rows with no problem

there is no general purpose AI canvas for working with information and structured data yet.
this has a chance of being that, with code, a spreadsheet interface, and of course LMs in the mix.
The performance of this thing is pretty insane... Absolutely love that you can zoom out and see all the data at a high level vs scrolling for days in Google Sheets... Great work here team!
As someone who has no idea how to code, Quadratic has blown me away with what I'm able to accomplish with even just a simple list. When I first tried this tool, it was like using ChatGPT for the first time, but with structured data. AI is excellent at writing code, and when you embed both of these technologies natively into a tool you're already familiar with, magic happens.
I've saved hours cleaning, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data, and it's actually fun to use! And I am typically not excited to open an Excel file. I can't wait to see what the community builds with Quadratic!

@masump Yup, Quadratic has real-time collaboration. Please check it out and let us know if you have any feedback.
@davidkircos looks amazing tool 🔥 will definitely explore this.
Congratulations on the launch 🎉

@masump Simply share a file with other users on your team and start collaborating. Each user's cursor is displayed in a different color along with their name. Detailed info here: https://www.quadratichq.com/blog/quadratic-is-now-a-multiplayer-collaborative-spreadsheet
Still sad about the deprecation of the negative axes, but (still) (overall) love quatratic.

What a great tool! Lovely UI, easy to get into and so so powerful. Will be my go to for analyzing structured data.

@sam_pieces Thanks Sam!

@atulbhuju100 Thank you Atul!
That actually sounds pretty cool! So it’s like a mix of a spreadsheet and an AI assistant? How well does it handle large datasets?

@jonchin this is spot on. Humans really only work with data in a few different ways, with text data and structured data easily being the top 2.

@jonchin Quadratic is the first and only web spreadsheet with pinch and zoom

@tsavo_at_pieces Thanks! Our first month of code with Quadratic was figuring out performant text rendering in WebGL

I used to live in excel coming from the finance world. It’s so awesome to see what can be done with the AI in Quadratic.
Really excited to keep supporting this team and to see Quadratic change the spreadsheet game.
