Hey Product Hunters, we're honored to see Setapp as a nominee for the best consumer product of the year 2017! Setapp is a flat-fee subscription service for macOS software. For a single monthly subscription of only $9.99, Setappians have a full access to a curated library of high-quality, fully functional Mac software. Launched at the beginning of the year, Setapp can now boast 106 apps from 90 worth a total of $3,000!
So excited to see Setapp as a nominee for the best consumer product of the year. It's been an amazing year. I looked at the numbers and they blew my mind:
* 106 apps onboard;
* 25Million+ Mac users worldwide were introduced to Setapp;
* 1Billion+ ad impressions;
* 5M+ Video Views
* 3M+ Emails sent to users;
Looking forward to the next year, and even more happy Mac users.
It's like Christmas over and over - an email from Setapp and *boom* I have more useful software. Over and over. It's the best thing that has happened to Mac software since the App Store.
Pros:
A ton of useful utilities, almost all of which I would have never found
Cons:
None I can think of. Saves a ton (thousands) vs buying even some of the apps included.
Stoked to be a part of the Setapp team! Thanks for the nomination :)

Pro versions of apps available for a monthly subscription. Buying individual licenses for each of those, might be more expensive than one year of Setapp. Moreover, Setapp adds apps all the time so it just gets better and better.
Pros:
Lots of apps for a fixed monthly subscription
Cons:
Very rarely the app servers become unresponsive; fixed with a repeat click.
Was there any similar service for windows or SaaS also? I remember there was where you pay some monthly fees and they get you subscription/software on monthly basis.
Would really appreciate you someone can name it and help my brain etch get away.

I am happy with the app selection. It is slowly but surely increasing. For the apps that are available, the price is frankly, negligible.
Just recently, I discovered an app (Tumult Hype) that totally changed the way I worked; more than just a few times have I thought 'This app alone makes this worth it'.
Frankly, if more apps meant less stringent app curation, I'd be disappointed.
I am very happy with the quality and honestly, even suffer slightly from new app notification withdrawals.
