I recently purchased the software after testing it with a free account for a few days. I believe it has the potential to grow like Riverside and StreamYard. Let's discuss it in detail.
Recording: It would be fantastic if lifetime users could have unlimited recording. Many of us are business owners, podcasters, and content creators, so having a limit on recording time can be a drawback. For instance, I just started my podcast, and 30 hours a month is sufficient for now. However, as my podcast grows, I'll need more recording time. The software's compatibility with various systems is excellent.
Additionally, it would be helpful to have an option to invite guests directly from the software. An automated email invitation feature would be very convenient.
Interface: I understand this is a new web app, and you are still developing features. However, the recording interface could use some improvements. For example, the buttons should adjust automatically to fit different monitor sizes. When I tested it with my wide-angle camera, my head was cut off, and I had to zoom out. It's a bit cluttered, but I'm confident it will improve, so I'm not too concerned.
This software seems ideal for those seeking an alternative to Riverside, StreamYard, or Descript. While these platforms have more features and better interfaces, this software is a solid choice for recording podcasts locally with remote guests. Don't worry about the design or interface for now; it can be enhanced over time. I trust the developers are working on the issues I've mentioned. For the time being, I'll continue using this software. If I need more recording time, I'll reach out to the developers to request it.
Lastly, please consider creating a community. I would love to connect with other users and possibly interview the developers behind this software.
Overall, it's a great product, 7/10.
Libretto
Hey everyone, we’re back with a new version of Libretto 👋
Tools for short-form and AI-generated content have exploded recently, but long-form spoken content such as podcasts, interviews, lectures is still where a lot of meaningful work happens.
Descript was a pioneer here. It made narrative editing fast and intuitive with transcript-based editing.
Libretto is inspired by that direction, and focused on making the core editing workflow simpler, faster, and more reliable for long recordings.
Today you can:
- Edit recordings by editing the transcript
- Remove filler speech and long pauses in one pass
- Export a clean final cut in minutes
And importantly, no credit-based limits for cleanup or editing.
If you’ve used Descript or similar tools, I’d especially love your feedback!
Thanks for checking it out 🙏
