Guys, we worked so hard on making sure Selftalk has true impact that goes beyond mere self-help advice, but actually gives you a personalized plan of growth and self-compassion and does it in an ethical, privacy first manner.
When I first joined Selftalk as Chief of Science, I felt so empowered to know that I’m not alone and that I have it all within me to understand myself and grow from...

It goes back to the nature vs nurture argument. We all possess a certain degree of natural creative talent which we are born with, but thats not a verdict. We can always get better. Sure maybe someone who is born with less natural talent would need to work harder to become creative but it’s def doable

Mindless scrolling on the socials. I go there for inspiration or entertainment but sometimes get stuck for at least 30 mins

Depends on which platform you’re using. For tiktok it’s mostly trends and ad hoc content because people there value authenticity. Instagram feed is scheduled because aesthetics but stories are ad hoc to build community. Linkedin is mostly scheduled because the life of a post there is much longer
Do you prefer to follow a strict posting schedule or post when inspiration strikes?

Doing something for myself right in the morning like enjoying my coffee, going to the gym or reading for 20 mins. Helps me feel like I have already achieved something for myself before the day has even started

Occupying my mind with tasks that I can get done fast (but only works short term). For long term it depends if things can realistically be done faster I express my thoughts with people who are involved in the project and look for ways to improve the rhythm. Many times I found out that other people feel the same but don’t proactively say it

That work life balance and hustling are opposites. Because you cannot pout from an empty cup and if you want to hustle you need work-life balance to keep you going

such cool aesthetics! Coming from habit research, I wonder whether you integrated any feature to help guide users on how to formulate a habit, as many times we tend to set these overwhelming habit goals and then bash ourselves down for not achieving them

I feel like careers have a different definition than they used to. Before you would become good at something and your whole career would be that. Now things ebb and flow, you need to be both good in something specific but think wide enough to be able to work with various stakeholders. Plus there are many more opportunities of career hopping nowadays so you can always re-skill and try something new
Is your career changing?

Focusing too much on how much needs to be done rather than the small steps ahead. It’s a question of refocus, once I refocus on the small steps ahead I get more done and feel less overwhelmed
What "Bad" habits or mindset make you less productive? And how do you fight it?

sometimes it’s as easy as pen and paper and mind-mapping; tools can be amazing to complete that ideation but in my experience AI can also create a lot of noise if used right from the start. I usually take the time to think on my own, write things down, sometimes it’s surprising what can come out of it

Storytelling attracts the right people and keeps the right people away. Take a writer for example, maybe his/her book is not for everyone but if it’s for you and you get into it, you’re in it for the long haul. That’s basically how communities are created
