Have you ever abandoned a marketing channel?

I've been thinking about cutting back on some channels for Draftly that aren't performing well. Anyway, I have tried to put them on auto-pilot as much as possible (either via tool or an intern). Have you ever completely stopped using a marketing channel? What led you to make that decision?

Yes, we don't use Google AD anymore. We experimented a lot but the economy didn't work and we stopped.

Oh, absolutely! Sometimes a marketing channel can feel like that plant you keep watering even though it's clearly dead. I’ve ditched a few when ROI became a joke. Focus your energy where it counts – like on data-driven products that actually make a difference, like Her Ideal Match. Better results and way less frustration!

Sure, always consider pivoting if the channel is not working. Especially in the early stages, when achieving product-market fit, many channels can be tested. Focus on the ones that yield results.

Yes, we tried X ads for around 1.5 months and Facebook ads for around 3 months. Decided to quit both last week, because we can't seem to reach our audience there + the targeting option on X are not working as intended.

Yes, focus on channels where your audience are, and cut out channels they are not. It's better to fully optimize a few channels well.

I no longer went to trade exhibitions. Although the networking prospects were good, the effort and expense were not worth it.
