Balsamiq Mockups 3 - New public beta for the popular prototyping tool

Balsamiq is by far the best wireframing tool I've ever used. Excited to have a play with this update!

I used Balsamiq a lot back in the day. Lately I use physical paper + Keynote for rough wireframing, and Sketch for more detailed stuff — also I'm using Polymer w/ Paper Elements in apps now, which has a designer that lets me lay out controls. Just downloaded this beta and played with it — don't think it can find a role in my toolbox.

Balsemiq was the best but they massively dropped the ball in keeping up with market needs. I have been pretty disappointed for the past several years. I'm stoked to see a new version but the fact that the website is still dogshit and not mobile optimized doesn't have me feeling too confident the new version is much improved. They seem to be living in 2004.

The most noticeable changes are support for projects (bundled files, multiple windows) and getting rid of the property inspector.

I regularly use Balsamiq for flowing the web copy I write for clients into wireframes. A couple years ago, I switched to Keynote for lightweight mockups, but with the latest, frustrating updates to iWork, I ran right back to Balsamiq. It's a tool that does what it does simply and well. Love it.

I use Balsamic when mapping onboarding and flow for clients. Looking forward to trying out this version.

Balsamiq is the Simplest, easiest, fastest tool for the Analyst or designers to make detailed wireframes. I have switched in other wireframing tools to find out any other better software than this... but I failed....Balsamiq is in real terms wireframing tool in which we can focus on our work without distracting in lots of colors or animations. I am in love with Balsamiq....Keep updating it. I would suggest adding some feature like to on one click we can edit page title, on one click change the color in all the screens. For example, I have used black and red in all the screens but now I want to replace red with yellow then I have to visit each and every screen. So please do something. Give us more flexibility which can save our time to edit wireframe and to give more productive work as well.

Really love Balsamiq Mockups 3 - it's helped me build some awesome products. The shortcuts are super convenient and thorough, which makes prototyping like playing the piano. Amazing!

Ah! one shortcut I wish for - flip focus between objects on the workspace and the context menu (right) where I change sizing parameters.

Pros:

simple to use; great shortcuts; comprehensive library of components

Cons:

no overlays or states - each wire is like a static slide - makes you do more work

I really love Balsamiq Mockups. I've been using it for the past 8 years, I do all my mockups with this.
